Dez vs. Thielen?

So I just traded dez for thielen and am I wrong thinking it's a steal? What do you guys think of the two?

I agree. Dez's name is propping up his value. It's only going to fall more over time

It's just the fact the title says Dez! Makes it seem way closer than what it really is. Dez was a legend in the dynasty community for awhile.

Well regardless of how I view the trade, I can totally see the logic that would make someone sell AT for Dez. At first glance it's your classic buying low on a perennial stud, and selling high on a guy who's lighting the NFL on fire but maybe he's worried that it's fluky, and why didn't he break out sooner, and now that he's 27 will he start declining in another year or 2, etc

Yeah, that's a great trade. Dez, for whatever reason, just isn't producing the last few seasons. I think Thielen, while breaking out at age 27, will be solid for several years.

Dez hasn't been really good since Romo started struggling with injuries. Him and Prescott don't seem to be a good fit, for whatever reason. I get this trade to win today, but I'm not so sure that Dez doesn't have a lot of juice left.

I'm stubborn, but I'd still take Dez here. Thielen is nowhere near as talented as Dez. Situation is everything here, and I completely understand why Thielen has passed Dez, but I can't do it.

I beg to differ, Thielen is a great rout runner, if anything he has the making of a Jordy Nelson.

Maybe 2-3 years ago id say yea no brainer, but Dez is just big, he cannot create separation. Don't you think if he was open Dak would get him the ball?

I know hes been hurt a lot but the last 2 years Dez hasn't got over 1k in yards, and its looking like its going to be year 3.

Maybe its injuries that hamper his big play ability but hes not the same guy he was 3 years ago.

Going forward id put Theilen as WR 1/2 and dez more of a 2/3

I don't know why people keep harping on Dez about separation. That was never his game. He won on physicality. The injuries have sapped some of those physical skills. This was evident even before Romo retired. Thielen is a safe high floor return.

I only bring up Separation because in todays football that's what is winning, its obvious with Amari Cooper as well. Press Coverage on the guy and this is what you get.

guys who can and know how to run routes and create separation are what I want long term.
