1. 49ers trade Hyde to the Eagles and then draft Fournette #2 overall.
2. Jags draft OJ Howard at #4 to replace Julius Thomas
Both are definitely longshots, just trying to be creative, you never know.
I like the first one and don't think it's that crazy. The 2nd one seems like a real longshot, but better than any guess I could come up with.
Yeah, I wish the first one would happen because I think it could be great for Hyde owners but I'm not sure how Fournette owners would like it.

It gives the fans at the draft something to be mad about when their team doesn't take the guy that all the mocks said they would. You finally convince yourself that your team should've taken the guy all the mocks had and they turn around and go in a completely different direction on a player you're not familiar with. Cameras capture your outrage and agony = ratings gold.

Carolina trades up to #2/San Francisco, Carolina takes Leonard Fournette at 1.02. SF then drafts Christian McCaffery at 1.08, and Samaje Perine or Foreman with an extra 3rd they picked up (Hyde is dealt away in another deal). Shanahan gets his Freeman/TColeman-esque 1-2 punch with Christian McCaffery and Samaje Perine.

The Seahawks send Richard Sherman to New England, New England send Jimmy G to Cleveland, Cleveland sends 1.12 to Seattle.

Oakland takes Joe Mixon with their 1st round pick. The hype-train is off the rails within 24-36 hours.

Tennessee selects Mike Williams at 5, and then take John Ross at 18. Mariota's hype train then goes something like "well look at his PPG last year with Richard Matthews and [insert how many people probably don't even know who the #2 WR in TEN was comments], and he now will have Mike Williams, John Ross, DeMarco Murray, and Delanie Walker?!" Mariota then vaults up into 3a with Newton/Wilson

Alvin Kamara goes to Indy in the 2nd.

Evan Engram goes to GB in the late 1st.

Dalvin Cook goes to TB in the second

D'Onte Foreman goes to NYG in the 3rd.

Curtis Samuel goes to SF in the 2nd, and the "well look at what Shanahan did with Taylor Gabriel" hype causes Curtis' value to skyrocket.

Jamaal Williams goes to New England in the 3rd, and his value skyrockets once everybody sees how well rounded he is.

David Njoku to the Falcons in the 1st.

The Corey Davis prediction, going in the second round, would set these dynasty rookie mocks back quite a bit. Personally, I still think he goes in round one—if Ross goes ahead of him, that's just stupid—but the idea of him sliding seems more credible now than I ever would have thought six weeks ago.

1. McCaffrey goes Top 14. If he falls to the Eagles, he won't fall any farther.
2. Cook goes to Bucs in second round. Still enters league as presumed starter in slick offense. Still in the conversation for 1.02 or 1.03.
3. Mixon goes early in round 2. —ie., he goes ahead of Cook. But considr this: If he goes to the Bengals, a dumpster fire of an offensive line, with two backs in front of him, is he really the fantasy pick over Cook in this scenario?
4. Davis does not make it past 1.18, to the Titans. This is a wide receiver driven league. He's really good at football.
5. Either Howard or Mike Williams goes to the Bills at 1.10, casting a presumed top shelf fantasy asset into purgatory.

—Best, Steve

We saw DJ goes to the Cardinals a few years ago and he was initially the 3rd RB on their depth chart behind Ellington and CJ0K. I think that dropped his stock a little bit but he was in an above average offense.

Good backs find a way to get on the field and produce so I'm not worries about players like Fournette/McCaffrey/Cook/Mixon starting off the season as the #2 on the roster.

If Mixon goes to the Bengals, it wont take long for him to pass up Hill/Gio on the depth chart.

Aren't all mocks completely useless?
I know in the offseason we are starving for football, so I understand why many look at mocks just to see what others think might happen. I for one haven't looked at one mock this year and can't remember the last time I did.
I think the main value that Mocks bring to the table is that they inform the more casual fan of who some of the top prospects are across all positions, and also give context to what schemes those players would fit best.
Agreed. I think the only "big" trade there may be on Day 1, is if a team moves up to get Trubisky or Watson. There seems to be a lot of smoke about San Francisco or Chicago going QB at 2 or 3 and I think that's to drum up trade value.

It seems like Cleveland wants to leave Day 1 with Garrett and Trubisky.
