(Mis-)Spelling of names

Postby secondbman25 » Mon Mar 02, 2015 2:06 pm

Does the amount of mis-spelled names on this forum bug anyone else?
We're pretty involved to be on the forums in the first place, so most of us know the rosters in the league very well. And I'm not talking about the occasional typo. I'm talking someone consistently spelling Ryan Mathews as Matthews, or Eddie Lacy as Lacey (just examples off the top of my head). And then these people try to correct others! At least it helps me weed out the opinions to trust or not, but is still annoying to me.

LOL are you an Enlgish teacher or something?

It doesn't bug me but I do notice it. A lot of people write fast and don't care. Some abbreviate by misspelling... Most people probably just don't really care because they can figure out who is being talked about...

Marcus Marriota is another favorite misspelling.

In one of my redraft leagues we had a regular member who constantly used wrong names when drafting. Bam Morris was known as Bam Morrison.

19 years in the league and 2 playoff appearances.

I work in marketing and it bothers me. I am dying to correct people but it just makes you look like an a$$.
