SEC Championship Conspiracy Theory

Postby rubber_duck » Thu Nov 29, 2018 10:24 am

I LOVE conspiracy theories. They can be really entertaining. So ....

What if Saban is a cold, calculating coach that will do everything necessary to win a national title?
What if the SEC is a conference driven to promote a public image of being the best of the best?

What if Alabama intentionally loses this week to Georgia?

So long as Clemson & Notre Dame are undefeated, then Alabama and Georgia would get the #3 and #4 spots in the playoffs. We would have a possible all-SEC title game ... again.

The benefit for Alabama? They wouldn't have to try very hard this weekend, while learning all they could about Georgia. The Bama coaching staff are the only ones that need to be involved, for the Bama players it could be a real game. Only the game script and planning needs to be dumbed down on the Alabama side. So their potential "rematch" for a national title would be against a well known opponent, while Georgia wouldn't have the same benefit.

Well, so much for that. It was looking fun there for the first 3 quarters. :-D
