Is the NFL fixed?

Postby dynastyfootball11 » Thu Feb 11, 2016 7:08 pm

Am I one of the few who have finally come to realize that the NFL fixes its games (to an extent) in order to maximize their revenue and create the best storyline each year.

I'm wondering if there is anyone else out there that agrees with me here? This was the first season I actually paid close attention to it and I realized week 17 once Peyton Manning came back that the NFL would do everything they can to get their golden boy a ring so he can retire.

This video (posted December 7th) exactly 2 months before Super Bowl 50 was a real eye opener for me and helped me win a lot of money. This dude is accurate as hell.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmUdpQljwE4

Watched this video the week leading up to Championship Week, and I placed $200 bet that Denver would beat Carolina in the Superbowl and it paid out $1400 so thanks to this guy.

I don't know that "fixed" is the word I would use. "Gift officiating" is the phrase that I use and prefer. i want to make the distinction because when someone says "fixed" I automatically assume there is a financial payoff whereas "gift officiating' implies that the correct calls are being made but only those in support of a specific team.

The team stands out to me (and no other team is even close) that gets the most "gift officiating" is the Green bay packers. Some of the calls--especially in the last 3 years--are clearly designed to give every advantage possible to the Packers. I wonder if every call made for the Packers was made for the opposing team what that actual outcome would be--. How many of those games decided in the Pack's favor by less than 10 points would they actually have won if both teams were officiated exactly the same? Bears thinking about-- I have no doubt that GB is one of the most ethically challenged teams I have ever witnessed in the 30 years I have watched football--

I don't think there's any "fix" or "gift officiating". I think the officials make mistakes in the benefit of one team more than another in any given game, but not by predetermined direction.

Elite QBs absolutely get more calls in their favor but it may be because they know the tiny details and how officiating works more than others.

No way there's a larger fix though. That would be too big not to leak and the owners know that would kill their revenue.
Not all that counts can be counted. Not all that can be counted counts.

I think it's naive to watch the NFL for long (and I have watched it for over 30 years) and not realize that the officiating is slanted for certain teams and not others. As Bob Uecker used to say "We never seem to get the close ones." That's because the game is rigged --or at least slanted---

I think they definitely make an attempt to leverage games in a teams favor. Some calls are just plain ridiculous. There's also a lot of bias on networks where the NFL controls what's said when talking about teams and players. Anybody ever see the special on Al Davis and the Raiders and how he believed the NFL was conspiring to keep the Raiders bad and looking like a villain?

So in the OP, the guy made his prediction 2 months before the super bowl and it was spot on....

This season he made it in preseason and here is the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9tSZKzJF_bk

His prediction is Colts vs Vikings and both teams are primed to be in contention for the playoffs down the stretch.

This video was posted after the Colts started 2-4 and people were calling him out for being "wrong" and he went on to stick with his prediction and even further predicted the results of ALL of the Colts last 10 games. And so far he is a perfect 3-0 calling the Titans and Packers wins and the Chiefs loss.

YUPPP!!

Start of the Luck Dynasty, the new NFL favourite QB now that Peyton is gone.

I personally believe the colts will play the pats in the AFC Champ and they will give the Colts their revenge on the Pats for Deflategate

In the video, the guy predicts the colts to win their remaining games EXCEPT when they play the Vikings week 14 I believe (Who they will meet in the super bowl)

Check out this article.....

Vegas noticed WAY too much money being bet on the colts so early in the season so there was no way they could let them win because they would lose so much money (and after all, the NFL is all about money)

http://www.reviewjournal.com/sports/col ... olts-favor

And then this one....

ESPN mocking the whole Colts/Vikings super bowl by predicting them to meet in next year's super bowl (Who the hell would predict that?)

Yes it's fixed! I tipped off the officials $17 and a Amazon gift card to win my league last year.
In all seriousness, I think they "swing plays" for competitive leverage.
