Gronk

Postby bullsboy19 » Thu Jul 26, 2018 8:00 pm

For my team in Sig what do I do with him? I have O.J. Howard to replace him and vets like Ben Watson are available in FA so I don't think i'll be hurting too bad if I move him. I guess what QB/2018 pick could I reasonably get for him? All signs point to me getting Lamar Jackson at 1.06 So is it even worth it to trade Gronk?

I'd probably hold Gronk, as you should be ok at QB with Winston and Flacco/Jackson for now. If you're looking to move him, I'd target someone like Trubisky or Carr.

If you feel you are contending, I would absolutely hold Gronk. Your QB's are serviceable and while you have Howard for the future, there is a several mile gap between the production you can expect from Howard to Gronk. If you get to the point where contention isn't a reality, then consider moving him.

I feel if I can get a solid QB I should be contending, trying to move DT/Gordon for a 1st to try and move that for a QB.

I wouldn't move Gronk for a first rounder unless it involved the 1.01. The difference between him and Howard (or, really, any TE not named Kelce) in average weekly fantasy points is greater than the difference between some rookie who may not even play in 2017 vs early-season Flacco/Bradford, who should each be adequate 'though not exciting. Plus, you can surely handcuff Winston with Fitzpatrick and maybe even Bradford with Rosen depending on when your first pick hits. I would target some of the rookie TEs to build your bench underneath Gronk but you don't have a serviceable TE1 or even TE2 in Howard yet, not while Brate is still in the equation in Tampa and the QB situation is iffy. Keep Gronk.
QBs: Patrick Mahomes, Trey Lance, Tua Tagovailoa
RB: Jonathan Taylor, Joe Mixon, Saquon Barkley, JK Dobbins, James Conner, Travis Etienne, Tony Pollard, Brian Robinson.
WR: Ja'Marr Chase, A.J. Brown, Deebo Samuel, Jaylen Waddle, Chris Godwin, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Chase Claypool, Chris Olave, Odell Beckham, Josh Palmer
TE: George Kittle, T.J. Hockenson, Taysom Hill, Trey McBride, Isaiah Likely
PK: Nick Folk
(IDPs, start two per week per position):
DL: Danielle Hunter, Myles Garrett, Alex Highsmith, Aidan Hutchinson, Chase Young,
LB: Roquan Smith, C.J. Mosley, Logan Wilson, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoa
DB: Derwin James, Jeremy Chinn, Xavier McKinney, Jalen Pitre

* Ten team league started in 2014.
** 40 player roster, 30 Keepers per season.
*** Red denotes 2022 draft pickups.
