Need some help, do I deplete QB depth

Postby psu007 » Thu Jun 28, 2018 5:10 am

This is for Team 2 in my sig, got offered this.

I give Kirk Cousins, Anthony Miller, Lamar Jackson

I get Le'veon Bell and Marvin Jones

The value seems fair, but I'm not sure I want to do that to my QB depth. Just assuming right now Mayfield doesn't play, so all I'd have left is Goff and Tannehill for this season. I guess if do pull this deal I'd immediately try to move some picks for a QB, maybe a guy like Tyrod. I think it's the Jones part I'm not in love with, definitely a win now move for me but I'm not sure what kind of value he'll have going beyond this year, hell what if Golladay overtakes him this year? The other side of it is this guy is probably desperate for a QB, his #1 guy is Winston and all he have left is Bradford, Kizer, and Rudolph, so not much for this year.

I guess my other question, is this forum the best place to post or should I stick to the Team Advice forum?

I presume it's Cousins, Anthony Miller + Lamar Jackson for Bell and Marvin Jones?

I'd really consider doing it since you have Goff and Tannehill for 2018 and Mayfield for 2019 (if Tannehill gets replaced)

Take Bell, and then trade for Tyrod.

I would pass. The value is about right, but you're unlikely to be a real contender this year, so I'd keep Cousins and Jackson.

I would have agreed, but if I make this trade the combo of Bell and Gurley will be formidable. We just had our startup so there really aren't many teams I would still consider stronger, so I think I could likely make the playoffs. Now would I win it all, certainly wouldn't be the favorite and a year from now I'm not sure how strong this trade will look for me.

I'd absolutely accept.

If you're a win-now team: Great!

If not: The value is incredible anyway, and Bell and Gurley should have more than just this year left in their tanks. Maybe ask for a viable TE back instead of Jones? In a start-one WR league, Jones has minimal value.

I ask here. You'll be more responses on the other forum, but the responses that you get here will be from owners who likely have more a focus on SF and 2QB leagues. I'd rather have fewer but more targeted responses than more but from a wider range of focused owners.

Whoops, my bad in the signature, we start 3 WR's, fixed and thanks for pointing that out.

And I'd consider him the most expendable... Of the five rookies, he has the biggest learning curve and longest wait to a starting job.

I think you hold for now. If you have all those QB’s that means someone must be short. I would look for a cheaper back like, Hunt, Cook, Fournette. Someone younger and cheaper. We have no idea how good tannehill will be. I think the trade isn’t bad value wise and those 2 at RB would be nice. But QB is most important position to have locked up.

This is definitely where I'm leaning. As a Steeler fan, I know how good Bell is, but I also know the cliff could come hard and fast for him. While I'm all in on Mayfield, there's no guarantee he pans out and like you said with Tannehill, come next season I could be left with Goff as my only viable QB.
