Team Criticism

Postby oogieboogie » Tue May 22, 2018 9:12 am

Team details: Roster 3 in my signature.

I only play in one Superflex team and it was an orphan I took over 3 years ago. I've been middle of the road or worse past 3 seasons. I think I had the 1.01, then 1.07, then 1.07 again. I'd like to get over the hump and actually make a playoff push. A common theme across all my teams is sucking at acquiring or valuing TE. :wall:

I'd like to get your thoughts on team building, possible trade targets, or other plans for the season, and your Superflex philosophies that I should be considering.

Thanks for your help, DLF Forums.

Seems like a solid team to me. You can try to buy low on some veteran TEs like Greg Olsen or Delanie Walker.

I really like that team's direction in that format. And yes, you suck at TE...lol

I actually quite like your roster, I'd expect you to be better than middle of the road this year. I'd probably try to sell Zeke for an RB1 plus help at WR or TE, which are your weakest positions.

12-team SF, PPR, TE premium, 0.25 PPCarry
1QB 2RB 2WR 1TE 1SF 4Flex
QB: Mahomes, Fields, Love
RB: Bijan, ETN, Pollard, Achane, Herbert

TE: Kyle Pitts, Goedert

you basically are only lacking WR depth and TE.

move a future pick or try to swing a 2 for 1. sell off a high end WR for a WR2 and a TE or something.

I forgot to include originally that the league is also TE Premium (1.5 PPR). :/

Owner with Olsen wants Fuller straight up.

I would counter with Fuller for Olsen and a pick (maybe a 2nd)

Lmao, I dunno why I targeted all the same shitty TE. I punted the position or traded away the wrong players. I'm exploring the Fuller for Olsen+19 2nd option but getting some push back on the 2019 2nd so ill try those other TE you mentioned. Thanks for your input.

Personally would easily give fuller for Olsen if that is what is took. Then again I am not very high on fuller

yeah i guess if its tight end premium it makes sense that he doestn want to add a 19 2nd. i mean you could try to ask for olsen and a 2020 second. or see if you can do a kyle rudolph for fuller str8 swap. maybe trey burton or kittle could be reasonable options as well.

I would look to deal Foreman for a TE, you have decent depth there and, personally, Foreman scares me to death coming off a torn Achilles (still a very poor track record for rbs with the injury). His value is still very similar still to where you would have drafted him, so I would look to deal him for a Graham, Olsen, or Gesicki type.

i would not sell fuller for olsen i think that is not a very smart move unless you think olsen really gives you the chance to win it all this season.

buy jared cook he had a quiet but good season last year, isnt insanely old, and is very very very cheap

I think I agree that Ross's band-aid approach as a temporary fix until you can better address the position makes the most sense unless you are a clear contender.

thanks for your comments. This method is certainly how I usually approach things and not trading away younger assets for 1 year fixes. Haven't made any trades yet, still looking.

The owners with J Cook and C Clay want a lot more then I think they warrant (2019 2nd + a player) given they are outside the top 200 overall players and around TE30 each. I feel like whenever you (me) try to go after a player with super low ADP/rankings, no one ever wants to trade them away for a simple 3rd or swap for someone like Buck Allen. Once you show interest they are like "hes wurth su much MOAR!" lmao, anyone else experience this?

I just wanna see the team compete but WR not a place I can give up an asset. Maybe I can move on from someone like Derrick Henry for a TE. He's not really a big time pass catcher so even though I think he can be an excellent rusher not sure his ceiling will be all that high without more passes coming his way (which is funny cause I gave up the 1.12 for Henry in different league [Roster 1]).
