Update 5: (nearly through 14) SF Startup Draft In Progress

I'll post my thoughts and reasoning later in the draft - pretty happy with my results so far - only been 'sniped' a couple of times and I had contingency plans set up for each round so far.

There we go. Posted an update. Glad you haven't been sniped. The entire 10th round plan for me got sniped. Lol. That TE run in the late 9th really wrecked my plans. All started by you. Jerk.

Well as you know always better to start a run than to be the last one to the party. In any case I think there is still plenty of meat on the bone to be salvaged - lots of good depth and upside picks before having to focus on what dart throws you like best.

My top 24 rookies are all gone, so at this point it was either a rookie 3rd rounder, some guy worth about that, or MB who has at least shown he has talent that just hasn't panned out. Also didn't realize he was only 26. Maybe fresh location in Oakland with Derek Carr throwing to him can give him WR2 numbers if Cooper is still regressed and Jordy has indeed lost a step

These long stretches without picks are brutal. I probably made some mistakes trading up so much early. I was able to trade my 2019 2nd to 13.10 and snag Michael Gallup, and I felt really good about that. I was really surprised he fell that far. Kind of bummed that Miller went between my Gallup selection and my next two picks. I was going to grab him as well.

Here is the team. I don't even have all the starting requirements filled in yet. I still need one R/W/T flex. It's gonna be rough.

QB- Wentz, Mahomes, Dak
RB- DJ, Rojo, Aaron Jones
WR- OBJ, Jamison Crowder, Michael Gallup, Kenny Golladay
TE- Kyle Rudolph

For now I have Gallup and Golladay in my lineup, but if I snag some vets later they may move to the bench. I don't have a 15th. So I really just have to hope my studs can hard carry the team.

Continue to be quite happy about my draft - although Bryant would have been on my board for consideration for Round 16 onwards so too bad he is gone already.

I have to admit that I am a little disappointed by the progress of this draft - and I am usually one of the least likely to ever comment on draft speed. However we are on like day 37-38 of the draft and we are not yet through 23 rounds.

I can honestly state I have not (in recent menory) seen a draft move so slowly, or so few owners willing to use pre-rank, even with 2-3 turns before their pick. Less than 20% of the picks made have been made by pre-ranking selections.

The progress seems to be slowing as we advance also - I think we were averaging 10-12 picks a day at one point but now we are barely above 7 picks a day average.

I can only wonder what the mood is like in the chat app (Discord which I do not use).

It's quiet. The progress is really driving me insane as well. Not going to put anyone on blast by mentioning names, but these are the average draft times in order from quickest to slowest for those that were following the draft..

Within the last 9 picks, two people let the timer run out (26 hours).

Yeah, things definitely started hot, but then once we got to the depth picks I fear people stopped caring which is damn frustrating

At least one owner seems to have gone awol. I'll need to look and see if it's more than one that we'll have to replace before the season starts

With the list there, you can definitely see the people good on their picks getting them in an hour or two (or less), and then 5 or so that just drag. Keep in mind, those times also have the quick first few rounds in them holding them up. I bet since 15th round we have users average 20 hours to pick

I updated the clock to 12 hours. I really don't want to take it to 4 or 6 but that may be the fate once training camp rolls around

Thanks for this thread. I am doing my 1st startup of the year and only my 2nd ever SF. My draft has not gone as planned at all. It didnt help that I was standing in a wedding this past weekend. So I did not have time to work the trade wire.

I won't be helping that though, I'm pretty content to wait until the season starts with my team to make any pushy moves, so unless a good deal falls into my lap, I won't be working to fill any holes really

That is where I stand as well. I will listen to any offers that come my way, but I am happy with my team atm and see no need to tinker just to tinker.
