DJ offer

Postby Broncopain » Fri May 11, 2018 6:29 am

Have an offer out to trade DJ for the 1.03, 1.04, 1.08 and 2.02.

My team baring injuries should be a contender but has little depth. Would that be a decent enough package to move Dj?

As far as pure draft capital, this is a very good haul for DJ. However, there are some who say you should never trade a stud without getting a stud in return.

Yeah that's a thought what has gone through my mind. This team owns 6 first round picks but little as far as proven fostered talent.

I would view it like this: If you aren’t willing to trade DJ for what's offered above, then he is essential untouchable for draft picks only.

Johnson for 1.03 (Mayfield or Guice) + 1.04 (Mayfield or Guice or Rosen) + 1.08 (Jackson or Darnold or Chubb) + 2.02 (Moore or Ridley)? Oh yeah. Goodbye DJ.

Exactly, and to add on...with this draft group, that haul is even better than it would be in a different year. If you can take the hit of losing DJ and still see your team as a competitor, this is a slam dunk trade that sets you up with 4 solid prospects.

To put it into context of what you're receiving, it's 4 of the following...1st round QB, 1st or 2nd round RB (and Royce Freeman), or 1st round WR. That's a pretty solid haul for a single player.

Is this an offer that you see a fantasy land or is it something that could be seen as a legit offer? It was sent a few days ago and just been sitting there ever since. We have our draft this weekend. Just curious. Not trying to offend anyone but I've seen a pretty constant thought that DJ should be 1.01 plus or three firsts+ type value.

Appreciate all the feedback. Kinda new to the sf world.

Value is always subjective. There are some who will pay 3 firsts + for studs, and some who prefer to roll with the picks. You also have to take into account league dynamics and other owners roster construction. A team collecting a bunch of picks for a rebuild is different than a team that happens to have some extra picks and is looking to go all in for a championship run.

It was just denied. Cant blame them though they invested heavily in a rebuild from ground up.

Thanks for the feedback fellas
