Trade for Goff or Winston?

Postby keebs3 » Wed Apr 04, 2018 6:58 pm

Team two- A recent trade has me looking for a more solid QB3 in this league. I'm hoping Trubisky breaks out- but I'd love to add Goff or Winston.

I sent an initial offer of Tyrod + Ajayi + 2.04 for Goff. Probably won't do the trick, but how close is that? I'm happy to send Hyde instead of Ajayi, but I fear I may have to add Trubisky instead of Tyrod too.

Any suggestions on using one of my RB's for a trade here? The owner of both Goff and Winston could use some RB help.

If I had Winston or Goff, I would need Trubisky plus one of the RBs to consider it and not sure I would take it. Winston and Goff offer a fair amount of security at the position, so I don't think Tyrod and a projected RB2/3 will cut it. Trubisky has yet to prove it either, but at least has some long term potential.

What do you think about Cooks for one of those guys straight up?

I would easily do that but probably will not be enough. WRs are far more replaceable in a shallow league like this and the McVay offense limits the ceiling of any one player if Cooks signs long-term in LA.

Also feel free to add any of your draft picks to the proposed Taylor deal to get the job done. Taylor could be replaced as early as this year and the draft picks are end of roster pieces for your team.

I don't know if I'd buy Goff at his current value. I know this year was pretty impressive but I can't say I'm 100% sold on him yet, Goff is still very young (23) and with McVay at the helm I believe he can continue to steer Goff in the best direction.

I'm also very scared of Winston, as we haven't seen him become an elite QB and I'm hoping his shoulder injury won't transform into something like Luck's.

However, as of today, I think you'd have an easier time buying Winston for less and he's probably the one I'd go after. He's already established he's a QB2 and maybe maybe there's QB1 upside still there.
