what to do with 1.02

Postby gunzwil guinea pigs » Sat Mar 10, 2018 11:24 am

Just got a deal done to get the 1.02 (lost CMC in trade). Would you pick the 2nd best RB available oder even consider a QB? 10 team standard scoring, 2QB. I think my roster needs a RB for sure (to compete)... or do I have even have enough fire power to acquire 1.01?

I offered LF and 3.09 and get turned down...
2QB-Dynasty - 10 Team standard scoring - 30man roster
2QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1Flex, K, D/ST

QB: Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts, Matthew Stafford, Mike White, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, Marcus Mariota
RB: Breece Hall, Tony Pollard, Najee Harris, Joe Mixon, Rashaad Penny, Damien Harris
WR: CeDee Lamb, Garrett Wilson, Stefon Diggs, Devonta Smith, Terry McLaurin, George Pickens, Calvin Ridley, Zay Flowers, Robert Woods, John Metchie, Marvin Mims
TE: Kyle Pitts, Irv Smith, Trey McBride
K: Tyler Bass
D/ST: Browns, Washington, Packers

Picks 2024: 1st, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th
Picks 2025: 1st, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th
Picks 2026: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th

I wouldn't grab a QB that early most years unless there was a Luck type prospect coming out. Currently, I would take your pick between Guice or Chubb.

You have 4 starting QBs.

I would go BPA which would likely be someone like Guice or Chubb.

I always feel like this is poor advice because I've never seen a league that works like this in actuality.

I would rank the rookies based on your opinions/league requirements.

I see that you are in a 2qb so if QBs hold more value than RBs and you can trade the QB later then maybe QBs should be ranked higher in your league based on potential trade bait.

I've seen it a few times, but mainly in larger leagues and it honestly annoys the s-j!t out of me when it goes on. Also takes patience to wait for a deal rather then picking.

I’m on board with this take. Even if a qb isn’t the second best player, from a value standpoint you could trade him for a player that is better than Chubb or Guice in season. Each league is different, but qbs are gold in my 2qb. Especially when the season starts and injuries happen. Desperation can work to your advantage.

Depends on how the draft works out...pick the RB that doesn't go to Cleveland. I think it is easy to rate guys now and say "Yup I am taking Guice." But last year at this time even dynasty guru's weren't really on Kareem Hunt or Alvin Kamara. Team, scheme, and preseason are so important.

As far as QB's go, I don't think there are any Luck's, Manning's, or Elway's.
QB: Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes, Ryan Tannehill
RB: Jordan Howard, Mark Ingram, Jay Ajayi, D'Onta Foreman
WR: Mike Evans, Brandin Cooks, Jarvis Landry, Robert Woods
TE: Travis Kelce, OJ Howard

With you having 4 QBs and potentially 5 with whatever happens with McCarron, I think you're sitting okay at the QB position.

If there was a QB you loved and wanted, maybe you try to trade back to the 1.04-1.07 range or something to get another asset or two + then have the opportunity of Rosen/Mayfield/Darnold etc.

Depends on how the draft goes, but I would have no problem taking a QB with 1.02 if he's the best player on my board. Regardless of how many starting QBs I already have.

X2 Especially since you have four, potentially five starters on your team already. I would trade back to 1.04 or 1.05 if there's a guy you're in love with in this draft. Otherwise, I'd take either Guice or Chubb at 2

You have to know your league, Will QBs fall. What will people trade for a young QB that is starting.

In my team 3 league I know 4 QBs will go in the top 6 this year, Based on the teams with 3-6, I have the 1.02 and I seriously considering a QB there as I need one.

I think with your team, you are solid at QB so RB would make the most sense, but it will depend on landing spot for the specific player
