Original offer by me was Cook for 1.09, 2.01 (which is actually 14th), and 2.02 (15th).
He countered adding Doyle to Cook.
QB: Bortles, Manning, Bradford
RB: Gurley, David Johnson, Cook, CMC, Rob Kelley
WR: Tyreek Hill, Allen Robinson, Watkins, Dez...dart throws
TE: Engram, Reed, Doyle
Picks: 1.07, 1.13 (Toilet Bowl Champ)
It's PPR and 1.5 for TEs. Starting requirements are a little different...it's 1QB, 2RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1SF, 1 RB/WR, and 1 WR/TE. I'm pointing this out because I can only start 3 RBs if I start 2 QBs. Also, I know my QBs are bad for SF; that was by design. Getting those picks is the next part of the plan I had set out.
Is this trade even? or is giving up Doyle, who was definitely startable, too much?
Dalvin Cook+ for late 1st and early 2nds
Re: Dalvin Cook+ for late 1st and early 2nds
You have Engram & Reed.
If you want to give up Cook for that package - I would not let Doyle break the deal.

Re: Dalvin Cook+ for late 1st and early 2nds
The idea would be to get a bunch of these rookie QBs, who will almost assuredly rise in value next year. The talk of 5 QBs going in the 1st of the NFL, as many as 4 in the top 11 or so, should increase the value of each of these picks unless I'm missing something?
If the 5 QBs are gone by 1.13, I'll have 3 picks in a row, which would amount to 1.08, 1.09 and 1.10 in a non-SF draft. If there are 3 QBs left, I get 3 QBs for the cheapest they'll be if they have any sort of success whatsoever.
I think it's basically a bunch of dart throws if you were playing darts right next to the board and only needed to hit the board twice to come out on top.

Re: Dalvin Cook+ for late 1st and early 2nds
I probably wouldn't move Cook for less than 1.03 or so. That makes this very far from anything I would accept, and him countering with an extra TE added to your side, in TE premium, is laughable.

Re: Dalvin Cook+ for late 1st and early 2nds
Can someone help me understand now?
I'd never do Cook for 1.09, 2.01 and 2.02 in a non-Superflex league...but in a Superflex league it feels pretty solid?
If Cook is around 1.03, would you really not trade 1.03 for those picks? That's likely a QB or 2 and at worst the 1.10 in a non-SF league. More realistically it's probably like 1.06 or 1.07 in a non-SF league (1.09), a QB, and 1.10. It felt even to me; why isn't it?

Re: Dalvin Cook+ for late 1st and early 2nds
I be looking for the first be 1.05-1.06 even in SF, haven't followed the rookie class too closely yet but it seems after the first 3-4 qb (for SF)and 3-4 rb there will be drop off. I value Cook pretty high so I'd want to make sure you get one of the top guys which may not be there at 1.09. The 2.01 and 2.02 are great for some depth, but if you're moving someone elite, I'd prefer to get someone elite back.

Re: Dalvin Cook+ for late 1st and early 2nds
I get that you're looking to capitalize on the QBs in this class. But, the picks that you'd be getting in return for Cook won't do that; you have no idea how many -- if any! -- will be there with those picks. If you were to tell me that you're getting, say, 1.5 and 1.8, then I could see where you're coming from.akbfrosty wrote: ↑Fri Mar 02, 2018 9:17 am The idea would be to get a bunch of these rookie QBs, who will almost assuredly rise in value next year. I don't mind the idea. I just wouldn't do it for picks as late as you're receiving if you're looking to assure yourself of a couple of QBs with the picks.

Re: Dalvin Cook+ for late 1st and early 2nds
Taking advantage of the class is two-fold though. I could a) get QBs or b) get the players that fell because QBs were drafted. I guess I didn't convey that well before. I also have 1.07 and 1.13, so that gives me some leverage on decision making during the draft. I won't end up with 5 QBs (though that'd be kind of awesome), and I won't end up with 0 QBs.
I guess the question for me is whether or not I'd trade Cook in a regular league for 1.08, 1.09 and 1.10 (at worst that's what this trade boils down to for me with the 5 QBs). With this team, I think I feel okay doing that.
Appreciate all the feedback, though. Interesting to hear how other people are valuing those early 2nds.

Barkley, Guice, Chubb, RoJo, Michel
It comes down to, how much do you like:
Kerryon, Freeman, Penny, Rudolph, Sutton, DJ Moore, Ridley, Washington, Kirk
If you really like 5 of those guys, then it's fine (since two more brings you to 1.13 with the previous 5 QBs and 5 RBs listed... Meaning you will guaranteed get your third, fourth, and fifth favourite player from that list with your 1.13, 2.01, 2.02).
The 1.09 is a solid pick on its own.
Personally, if I'm you, I probably don't make the trade. I'd trade Dalvin around the 1.03 range in SF and you already have the 1.07 and 1.13 to build your team with. I wouldn't fault you for making the trade, but it seems like a 50 cent piece and two quarters for the dollar that is Dalvin. I would certainly not add Doyle to the deal in a TE premium league. If you trust your ability to identify rookie talent, then feel comfortable going for it.
