SuperFlex / 2 QB - Rookie Draft Poll

Postby ArrylT » Sun Feb 04, 2018 9:36 am

Do you plan to use a 1st round pick in your Superflex / 2 QB league rookie draft this year to draft a Rookie QB?

Just curious to see - amongst owners who play in these leagues - what their mind set is currently. Obviously this will be somewhat roster dependant, but passing on a QB in a Superflex this year could be akin to passing on Kamara, Hunt or Engram last year ...

Honestly - it all depends.

I have 1.09 in my Superflex and I am literally going who I feel is BPA.
I don't necessarily "need" QB; but if that is the value - then yes.

rank the rookies before the draft for their talent and opportunity mix and mix in your team needs, get the player whos highest on your list ;)

I have the 1.09, I doubt i will get a top 4 RB or a top 4 QB so maybe I draft WR, even Im set...

There probably should be about 3 QBs taken in the 1st round of rookie drafts.

I pick 1.03 in my 2qb and I have watson and mahomes. No qb3. I’m leaning qb, but Guice could be there or I may be best served by trading down to gain an asset and still get a qb. I’m not a fan of Rosen, darnold or Allen really, but I don’t know if Jackson or mayfield, who I like will warrant a pick that high. Landing spots will be huge and I’ll probably need to be on the clock before I make a decision.

Still a ways to go. I would expect a QB to go around the middle of the 1st and then a couple more in the late 1st. Doesn't seem to be an elite prospect this year, but maybe once they go through the combine and teams are able to watch more film, someone could emerge. I don't know how anyone could be confident to take a QB that goes to the Browns with a top 2 or 3 rookie pick though.

I don't play in any QB-Premium leagues, but - if a QB gets taken in the 1st round of the NFL draft, would he seriously have a chance of falling to the 2nd in a SF/2QB league? That seems insane. Did Mahomes drop to the 2nd round?

Mahomes went in the 1st round in all my SFlex league's except one .... which was a start up, so perhaps teams were more settled with their rostered QBs.
99 problems but your 10 team league ain't one!

Only 1st round QB in my Superflex last year was Watson.

I was cringing as I didn't have a 1st or 2nd and was trying to trade back up. lol

Every QB except Kizer was drafted in the 1st round of my superflex league last year. I'd assume at least two or three rookie QBs will go in the 1st this year.

I could see Darnold, Rosen, Allen, and Mayfield go first round.

I don't plan on taking one but don't plan to not take one either.
back end of the 1st is a great spot to land a QB to stash relative to other positions imo. They retain value a bit better and jump quickly in value if they start and look even remotely capable

Every year it changes, if you have teams with 2 or 3 great/good/solid QBs that probably isn't going to be where their mind is focused. In my leagues, I don't think I've seen people take value/BPA approach often. Most will draft based on what their team needs or their desire is.

Just thinking out loud but if you have a 1st RD QB, unless they are truly God-awful, they should play for 3-4 years at the minimum, maybe they get their 5th-year option exercised like Bortles or become a legitimate long-term option. We have people still waiting that same amount of time on Kevin White, Perriman, Parker, Yeldon, Abdullah, etc and it's just hasn't worked out yet like we probably hoped.

Should a 1st RD QB be available, do you take them over these skill-position players even if you may not need them? I'm starting to think, why not? QBs in these leagues are such a premium, and if you miss out you're starting Hoyer, McCown, Glennon, Keenum, Osweiler, Siemian on a regular basis...where their longevity may be 1 year or less and that's the risk you accept. In some cases, those guys put up big games/big seasons but how much can you rely on them? We're seeing the results from that today where 4-5 decent QB prospects are being vaulted into the first round.

***I know using 2015 isn't a perfect example as it was just Winston/Mariota and that was it but I hope I'm making sense.
