Terrible news out of SoCal today....Stafon Johnson had to have emergency surgery after dropping a barbell on his throat. I'll let you know if I hear any news here.

these guys are some serious lifters brady most of the time on reps youll only have one guy spotting from the back ( three when you're doing maxing, really heavy weight )... one guy cant catch all that weight... think about this... he was probably doing reps in the mid/high 200's.... if not higher... thats alot of weight.

terrible news... and a terrible injury( if it landed directly on this throat it probably crushed his wind pipe..) .. ill be praying for him.

According to ESPN he was benching around 270 and he lost his grip with his right hand. Had a trainer spotting him at the time too.

Johnson looks to make a full recovery but appears to be done for the season. I wonder how this affects his draft status for next year, I took him in the Gridiron College Draft.

Good news. USC RB Stafon Johnson plans to forgo a potential medical hardship and enter the draft.

It's safe to assume his prognosis is a 100% recovery. Good news on a personal level and fantasy wise since I took him in the GI3 College Draft. If he make a full recovery, I believe his game translates very well to the NFL.

Agreed. I think he could be a nice NFL back. I like him much better than Joe McKnight.
