How is the 2017 draft class looking?

Postby agentpaco » Thu May 28, 2015 9:23 am

As far as I can tell, there are some decent looking RBs (Fournette, Chubb, etc.) at the moment that should be in available 2017 draft class. What does everyone else think?

If you take away Gurley, I like the 2017 class better than this class. Yearby is pretty good. Perine, Cook, Fournete, and Chubb can be REALLY good/great.

Overall, 2017 > 2015

Overall, 2017 > 2015
Chubb>Gurley as a freshman

Fournette>Yeldon

The WRs didn't perform as well, but they generally take longer to develop. If you're thinking about trading for 2017 1st round picks, I would. I'd get Chubb before it's too late.

It is still early, but I am liking many of the potential 2017 players better than the 2016 class. This may be another case where I will trade out of one draft class to stock up on another ... moving my 2016 picks for 2017 picks.

remember that Elliot in Dallas sounds and looks good. Landing spot and of course health will be key for all these blue chips both in 2016 and 2017. Just look at hype for Devante Parker and Perriman. Injuries derailed hopes this year and landing spot neutralized Abdullah and Agholor for this year too. Bet on talent and 2017 does look to be the more promising of draft classes (at this point at least).

What's funny is that Abdullah and Agholor were thought to have landed in great landing spots

haha. injuries and fumbles combined with two dumpster fires does not a good season make. oh how the tides have turned.

landing spot for me for RB is more about if have a veteran already there so will be at best a time share.

Very good.. Very deep at running back with good talent at the top. People are sleeping on a lot of the WR as well because Mike Williams is a beast and he could fall to the 5th-6th pick at least. Like Smith-Schuster, but not as much as Williams. Nothing amazingly special about him. I saw a Treadwell comparison, but he has way better speed as a long strider than him. Probably just as good at making contested catches. The one thing that I like about this draft is that there are a lot of big receivers that play to their height making nice contested catches and snatching balls away from their body. Hopefully everyone declares in this draft.

In a word....awesome.

Chubb, Cook, and everyone's favorite LSU RB plus Jalen Hurd, Samaje, Royce Freeman... if you need a rb this is the year. The only thing which may have been mentioned above is that the opportunity may not mesh with the talent.

At WR I have Mike Williams and or Cory Davis in all dev leagues. I like them both better than Dotson, Coleman and Treadwell. I do see a lot of 6'4 guys like Malachi butam not sure if their is elite talent.

The good news. Tight ends that are worthy of a draft pick. OJ, and Jake Butt among others are good and we may see a tight end or two go in the first.

QB....if you were underwhelmed by this year'so class then next year will put you to sleep.

To pile on it looks to be the best class in a long time.

QB- Watson is an early heisman favorite and projected number 1 pick on a lot of 2017 mocks,I like him a lot but after that it's kinda meh.

RB- The reason why everyone is so excited for this class. Fournette, Chubb, Cook, McCaffrey, Hurd, Freeman, Gillman, Samaje, etc. There will be talented RBs in the 2nd rounds of rookie drafts next year.

WR- I think it's a better class than this year. Mike Willims, C Davis, JuJu, Dupre, are all legit players,

TE- Howard, Butt, Engram are all good prospects and much better than the past couple years.
