Over analyzed?
There's been sports radio talk that NFL front offices are concerned that the extra 2 weeks may cause them to over analyze draft prospects....think long, act wrong.
Any concern among the dynasty GMs out there that you might likewise suffer analysis paralysis?

Re: Over analyzed?
This has been my thinking all along that there will be to much over thinking with the extra 2 weeks for all the NFL Clubs. As far as me as a GM I am going Watkins and Evans I don't care where they go with WR you draft great talent and let the walking do the talking Examples Gordan, Green, Jones,Jeffrey, Allen ,although he has not yet been a proven commidity Patterson has esxtreme potential and to think otherwise is seriously funny to me!That guy has moves I have never seen since Barry Sanders I am not calling him Barry Sanders its that he has that kind of specialness to him!

Why go Watkins at 1.01 when you can have a bigger version in Matthews?

Matthews ran a nice 40 but he's not a bigger version of Watkins.Loss Prevention wrote:Why go Watkins at 1.01 when you can have a bigger version in Matthews?

Sooooooo, you moved him behind guys that couldn't put up better production against crappier DB's, but Matthews is the guy that will have trouble? Please explain? As for higher ceilings, how so? Physically he's just as fast/agile as the guys you've put above him, but bigger than OBJ/Lee. Comparably, Matthews is a bigger Sammy Watkins, so I'm not sure why everyone is so down on him. Granted, I like it, but I don't get it.

Do you disagree?
Ht Wt Arm Hand 40 Vert Broad 3 Cone Shuttle
Jordan Matthews 75 212 33.3 10.4 4.46 35.5 120 6.95 4.18
Sammy Watkins 73 211 32.0 9.6 4.43 34.0 126 6.95 4.34
Looks pretty close to me.
Stats maybe?
Rec Yards YPR Rec TD
Jordan Matthews 7.3 95 13.1 0.5
Sammy Watkins 6.4 98 15.4 0.5
Pretty close again.
Not sure how you can't say they're comparable, and Matthews is bigger by 2'?
I don't mean to cherry pick but this gives a compelling argument why he IS a bigger version of Sammy Watkins. I might also add that I believe Dri Archer is a smaller version of Adrian Peterson.

Re: Over analyzed?
I like Mathews as well but I dont see him in the same class as Watkins. Watkins is young and already a polished wr. Mathews will take a year to get acclimated to the NFL with better route running. I think both have promising careers though.

Care to break this down for the rest of the class?Loss Prevention wrote: I might also add that I believe Dri Archer is a smaller version of Adrian Peterson.[/b]
Re: Over analyzed?
Are you saying Matthews isn't young and/or polished? If yes, could you please expand on that? He's 21, one year older than Watkins. But that is still considered young in my book. And he is considered by many to be a very polished wr. Will he need to work on some things? Of course, but so will every rookie WR, including Sammy...I've seen him run some sloppy routes.JohnnyFive wrote:I like Mathews as well but I dont see him in the same class as Watkins. Re: Over analyzed?
Jason, yeah I wasn't trying to say Mathews is old. I just think Watkins is more developed as a route runner in his youth. Mathews is a good route runner I just don't think hes as polished as a wr at this point. It takes most wrs a year to develope in the pros even if they are good at route running in college. Watkins is just at a whole different level being able to set dbs up to gain seperation. I think Mathews needs to work on that which he will do with his work ethic. For the record I do love Mathews as I have him as my 3rd ranked wr in the class.

Re: Over analyzed?
Ok gotcha.
I can agree on that. Although I think Sammy is getting a slight free pass on some of his route running and I think some of his separation comes from the db's playing so far off of him.

My Ginger Ale is somehow still in its glass. Dri Archer is Tre Mason's height, 30+ pounds lighter, and .25 seconds faster in the 40? Gio/Stacy are also 5'8" and Doug Martin is only 1 inch taller? Hell, I dunno. HIT THE WEIGHT ROOM DRI
