Evans is fast, not quick. He's not gonna dominate underneath and catch 95 passes. He'll dominate deep and win with his high pointing ability and ability to shield off defenders. He'll probably be one of those guys who catches 75 passes but for 1,350 yards.

75 for 1350 and a high TD total considering he is a red zone target would be huge. I keep wavering back and forth on this guy. I'm starting to think he is going to be the real deal. He reminds me of Alshon, although he is a clutz..

I've been getting into the tape on Evans recently, and his tape reminds me a little of Alshon at South Carolina.

People need to remember though, that Alshon was a bit out-of-shape in college, especially his last season. It wasn't until the summer after his Rookie Year that he went and trained all off-season with Fitzgerald and Marshall. There were multiple reports about how he re-shaped his body, got into crazy good shape, and Marshall even said that Jeffery has the tools to be the best WR in the game.

Not saying Evans CAN'T become that, but I don't think Alshon's path to greatness is a very common route.

Has Evans turned into the consensus 1.02 or do a lot of you guys still have Lee/ARob/Matthews in front of him?

He's been my 1.02 for quite some time.

I've been big on the Lee at 1.02 train for awhile, but Evans has really closed the gap in my eyes.

I have also moved Evans to 1.02 and he's closer to Sammy than 1.03.

I've had Evans as my 1.01 for a while. I know total no no to say on this sacred Watkins forum.

I wouldn't say that. I personally believe that Watkins is the 1.01, but I can't fault somebody for going with a big target like Evans there. I personally think that Evans compares more to Jeffry than he does to Jackson.

I actually feel like passing on Watkins and taking Evans is the right thing to do but I don't think I can bring myself to do it..

Not a no-no. If you like Evans at 1.01, you take him. The guy at 1.02 will be ecstatic. I like Evans. But there is something about him. I notice some Alshon Jeffery comparisons. Is he as fast? Are his hands as strong? I dont think I've seen a receiver snatch the ball quite like Alshon. I mean, this guy has made a name for himself despite having Brandon Marshall beside him and Jay "Lock-on" Cutler chucking the rock.

just trade down a spot get evans and some other piece - if the the guy at 1;2 won't deal better to take the guy you like than watch him go off on someones else's team.
