Dynasty Rookie Big Board

Postby the_lung » Mon Jan 11, 2010 12:29 pm

I found this on another site and was wondering what everyone's opinion was:

Code: Select all

1 C.J.Spiller RB Clemson
2 Jahvid Best RB California
3 Dez Bryant WR Oklahoma State
4 Dexter McCluster RB Ole Miss
5 Arrelious Benn WR Illinois
6 Ryan Matthews RB Fresno State
7 Toby Gerhart RB Stanford
8 Damian Williams WR USC
9 Jonathan Dwyer RB Georgia Tech
10 Brandon LaFell RB LSU
11 Golden Tate WR Notre Dame
12 Joe McKnight RB USC
13 Mardy Gilyard WR Cincinnati
14 Jermaine Gresham TE Oklahoma
15 Anthony Dixon RB Mississippi State
16 Aaron Hernandez TE Florida
17 Danario Alexander WR Missouri
18 Dezmon Briscoe WR Kansas
19 Daniel Thomas RB Kanasas State
20 Demaryius Thomas WR Georgia Tech
My thoughts:
  • McCluster is WAY too high. We know he has world class speed, but c'mon, the guy is only 5'6".
  • Dwyer at #9 seems far too low.
  • Texas WR Jordan Shipley, Tenn RB Montario Hardesty, and Buffalo RB James Stark are egregious omissions from this list.

Lot of holes...no QB in the top 20 is silly.

Somewhat agreed, but unless you are desperate at QB, are Bradford, Clausen, McCoy & Tebow really that much higher than 20, which is mid-second round?

I would take any above McCluster, McKnight, Dixon, Daniel Thomas, and Hernandez.

There are at least 1 or 2 QBs that are almost always taken in the first round of rookie drafts, in this case I think Bradford and Claussen will make the 1st round, with McCoy and Tebow being 2nd rounders perhaps. I think we can pretty much throw this list in the trash

Good point! And we also still have some time for more underclassmen to declare, plus the combine always has someone with a Mike Mamula type workout to screw up everyone's rankings

I think there are some holes as mentioned earlier. Also must think that a QB must be up ther.
Shipley will get up there too as the draft rolls around.

Too bad there arent any IDP lists out there so that we can simply see some type of reference point.

Where's the man..Steve.

Everyone sees guys differently. That's what makes this fun. But, I see Dwyer going in the top 5 of most rookie drafts. I also don't see McCoy going that high. He'll be a high 2nd rounder in most drafts I think. I personally also like Gresham as a fringe 1st round pick. The guy is a beast.

Dwyer will probably go top 3 in most drafts assuming his combine numbers are decent. Bryant, Dwyer, Spiller are my bet for most common 1,2,3 picks at this point.

McCluster and Mccoy are both 3rd round prospects imo.

I also think Bryant could go 1st and then Spiller. Im torn on Dwyer and Spiller as my 3rd.

The NFL RB has changed. Spiller is the better player. 10 years ago it would have been the opposite.
