2018 draft discussion

Postby Dre » Sun Jul 01, 2018 8:27 pm

I saw the start date last week but was still surprised to see picks already made, I assume the commish will put up a draft selection thread at some point.

No surprises at 1.01, I do worry a little about Barkley and his ability to run inside in the pros but no doubt a slam dunk choice

Penny is very interesting, 10/10 in terms of opportunity but talent wise there's a few others I like much better

Oh and as always, TDU are open for business to trade draft picks including 1.08.

Of all the years to not have a 1st, I'm pretty happy with it being this year. Some of these guys who are gonna get picked soon look like typical 2nd round flyers. The RB class looks like a total crap shoot.

I actually dont love his opportunity... kindof a crowded backfield but I guess when you take a RB in the first, you're gonna ride him. But their OL still sucks and it's like Ryan Grigson is running that team cuz they refuse to address it. And they replaced Jimmy Graham and Paul Richardson with trash cans.

I wouldn't go quite that far, but there is a pretty significant drop after Barkley, and I don't know about the order they're going in. Sonny Michel going top five is especially surprising to me in non-PPR. I don't know if I would have had him top 10.

I thought he was undervalued and underappreciated as a collegiate/prospect, so wasn't surprised to see him going in the first. I'm much less enthused by his landing location than just about any of the other top prospects in this class.

I might be interested in 1.08, depending on the next two picks and asking price. I don't know that I have much I could offer you'd be interested in though.

Yeah there's a couple RBs from this class I'd like to have... although I wouldn't have taken them in this order. I do love Sony Michel though. Not crazy about Ronald Jones.

I could also be interested in 1.08 depending on the next 2 picks. No first this year or next, but maybe I have some players you'd be interested in, so....

Dion Lewis was a top 10 back in our league last year and I think Michel is far more talented. Can’t imagine NE would use a 1st round pick on a RB to not feature him.

The issue with NE backs has never been capacity to score, it's the consistency with which they're allowed to do it.

When’s the last time they had a back as talented as Michel? They’ve been using other teams rejects for years.
