2015 Rule Change Summary Thread

Postby TrueDawg » Thu Aug 20, 2015 6:50 am

The following rule changes have passed for the 2015 season:

1) Defensive scoring has been changed to:
0 = 15 points, -0.5 for each point allowed up to 35
36+ = -3
Interceptions / Fumble Recoveries / Safeties = 2
Sacks = 0.5
Defensive TDs = 4
2) The following changes have been made to the Practice Squad:
Move PS declaration for drafted rookies from draft day to cutdown day (contracts would initially be 4.5 years but would change to 1-year if demoted to PS)
Eliminate the "not started" requirement
Increase maximum salary to $1000 (but still must be a 1-year contract)
3) Waivers between Cutdown Day and Week 1 have been changed to FCFS.

4) Tiebreakers changed to:
Division Champ: Best overall record in the division. In the case of a tie, we'll use the following tiebreakers: H2H, division record, points.
Each conference has one wildcard spot. This will be the non-division winning team with the most total points scored...record will not be a factor.
The #1 seed in each conference will be the division winner with the best overall record. If the two division winners have the same record, the tie will be broken by total points scored.
5) If you have an illegal roster (over the roster limit, over the salary cap, etc.) on game day, your team scores zero. You basically forfeit. You shouldn't be allowed to win a matchup while ignoring your illegal roster.

6) The restriction on transactions during the playoffs has been removed, as all teams are now active during the playoffs (non-playoff teams are playing for draft picks).

7) Playoff losers will now have matchups to determine picks 11-14, which were overlooked when we changed how we determine the draft order last year.
