Dude, maybe he'll never make it, but the Browns didn't do him any favors. He SHOULD have sat on the bench last year, but stupid-a$$ Sashi cut McCown. That pretty much forced Hue to start Kizer (cuz their other QBs were actually worse) when he clearly wasn't ready and left him with NO veteran presence in the QB room. Then you have Hue jerking him around... start him, bench him, sit him, start him, bench him. And finally, the CFL-caliber WRs they rolled out there, like Kenny Britt.

Re: 2018 draft discussion
Not sure how I feel about my draft. My first pick was 2.10 (#26) so I obviously missed out on the premier talents. I gave up my 2018 first last season in a trade that allowed me to pick Juju Smith-Schuster, so I feel pretty good about that. I had to pick through the RB scrap heap but hopefully got at least one guy that can give me something. I think Ballage is underrated... he has size, speed, agility, hands. Drake is not an every-down back and Gore is 8,000 years old. Wilkins isn't special but he has an opportunity. Picking Kelly was just a bet on his talent, and a hope that McVay can use him creatively. The Ian Thomas pick was just a dart throw based on talent and upside compared to other players available. Late in the draft, I'd rather pick a high ceiling guy like that who may be a bust than some JAG who will never be more than a WR4 or TE3 for my team.

Continued my strategy of adding quantity at WR and hoping i get a few cheap pieces to develop into quality starters. I think getting Darnold at 2.05 and Walton at 3.07 was very good value.

Re: 2018 draft discussion
I’m really happy with my draft. Michel should give me production right away and Mayfield gives me a trio of young QBs making virtually nothing. If Callaway keeps his head on straight he could be a solid WR. Samuels is interesting, he basically plays every position so hopefully he finds a niche in their offense.

Come onnnn. Some of us did a terrible job planning for the future of their team and have been waiting 2 rounds and 14 picks to finally play along!

Re: 2018 draft discussion
Only had one draft pick, but happy to get the 2nd rated RB (pre-draft) at #7. Highest draft pick I've had in years...and that was a fluke.
The league as whole, did an extremely good job of finding value...a few WTF, but not many.

Re: 2018 draft discussion
Whether he was the 2nd rated back or not, he had no business being there at #7. I wouldn't be surprised if he leads the Browns in touches this season. But unless Hyde just goes bonkers this year, I think they'll dump him next year and Chubb will be the man.

Re: 2018 draft discussion
I had Chubb ranked 5th. I liked him just not in love with the situation. The resigning of Duke Johnson probably limits him to being 2 down back even after this season on a team that plays from behind a lot.
Re: 2018 draft discussion
I still think Hyde, takes the bulk...but Chub is in another league compared to Hyde. Duke is in the mix big time, but I was still surprised to see him there at #7. Of course I live and Georgia...so call me a homer.ssmith313105 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 14, 2018 7:19 amI had Chubb ranked 5th. I liked him just not in love with the situation.
