2018 Rule Change Vote: FT Contract Years

Should we change the rule for FT players to read as follows:

If the player receives a bid and the controlling owner matches, the player can be signed for up to 6 years. If no one bids on the player, the player is signed at the tender offer amount for 1 year.

The number of years will be changed to 5 years if the league passes the rule change to lower the max contract to 5 years.

I am in favor of eliminating the option for teams to use the FT on a player and assign him multiple years when the FT amount is still under market value.
