Bernard Pollard
With Bernard Pollard going to the Ravens, do people still project him to be a top 10 DB? He's been highly productive with every team he's played for. Does anyone know if he's expected to be their starting SS?

I'd heard he was going to alternate, with him coming out on passing downs.

Pollard loses a fair amount of value if he's not playing all 3 downs, which I don't think he will.

This is very bad news for Pollard owners.
The Ravens are deep enough to only use him on running downs...and Ray Lewis makes all those tackles, lol.

Just an update:
Bernard Pollard started over Tom Zbikowski at strong safety in the Ravens' second preseason game.
The two have been splitting first-team practice reps since Pollard signed in early August. It's now believed to be Pollard's job to lose. The Ravens apparently trust Ed Reed to make up for Pollard's deficiencies in coverage skills

No. He might be if he starts regularly, but too many other good players and he may leave the field on passing downs; and there's plenty of competition for tackles on that team. Tom Zbikowski will start the Ravens' third preseason game at strong safety.
Zbikowski is locked in a battle with Bernard Pollard while Haruki Nakamura appears to be on the outside looking in. Zbikowski started the preseason opener and then Pollard got a chance in Dawan Landry's old spot last week. I
