IDP help

Postby Wallace's Warriors » Sat May 14, 2011 3:44 pm

I don't know what positions earn the most points because I have never played IDP before. Can somebody rank these positions by who earns the most points (average player):
4-3 MLB
3-4 MLB
4-3 OLB
3-4 OLB
CB
S
4-3 DE
3-4 DD
DT
NT
Thanks for the help. I see all the posts about how some guy is going to be in some position so he is going to put up good numbers. I just want to know what kind of position that is going to be.

depends on your scoring....a MLB will get you more tackles while an OLB will rush the qb more often and get you sacks

A good primer can be found here, and might be what you're looking for to help determining positional value for IDPs:

Keth did a really good job with that. There's not really a correct answer for Wallace's question, because of defensive schemes. Then you have to add in the one-gap/two-gap systems, and the Tampa 2 and it throws it all into a whirlwind. The 4-3 MLB is still the best as far as I'm concerned, but as more teams go to the 3-4, we're seeing less teams with that guy. The Tampa systems can have some good production at the WOLB spot, as we've seen from Chicago, Indy, Tampa Bay, and Minnesota. For defensive back, I usually like to target the strong safety.
