Should certainly become a DE now, in our 4-3 system.

I’m happy because I recently bought low on him, but primarily as a Colts fan - this is fantastic! He should immediately be our best pass rusher and still only 30.

Yes & no. It’s not ideal that he’s never played in a 4-3, but if Ballard trusts his ability to switch, then so do I.

He is always one of those guys I think of as "old" and then look and see his age and think, wow, he is younger than I thought. This has probably been going on 3 years now. Probably because he was so dominant a while ago and then kinda faded with injuries, but now as you said only 30 and should be the teams best pass rusher.

I could see a chance some trouble transitioning to the full spectrum of what he is asked to do as a DE though I don't expect it. I see no problem with his pass rush ability and those big plays translating and even if he struggles some in other areas on the field I don't see it being enough to take him off the field so for idp I love it as a solid de2, maybe a little more

People focus on pass rush, but he’s also tremendous setting the edge and playing the run when I watch. I don’t have PFF stats or anything, but his all-around game has always impressed me, while also putting up the Sack numbers he has. Good signing for Indy. Cap space to spare.

Yes he is. Houston is a MONSTER against the run.

Thanks for the insights. Not that surprised by the result, but nice to have it validated. He is just so solid all around. Some guys really sell out just to get their sacks. He just always is in control, and still manages to get his. Not a speedster, but rather a nice combination of speed and power. Big fan. Was hoping he'd go to the Jets...

Never a bad idea to pursue a pass rusher. I love that the Niners got Dee Ford and wish they would have looked into Ray, Golden or Barrett. Low cost, relatively high upside.
