IPD low value , rookie draft question

Postby patrick16 » Thu Feb 28, 2019 11:09 am

Hello,

I am torn in where to draft IDP in my future rookies draft because my league values IDP, I feel fairly low. Scoring is below. It is 3 DB,LB,DL so good amount of defense.

Question: with the point totals so low when it comes to players I feel are elite IDP Bosa , Allen , White....How early is too early with this type of scoring for IDP being on the low side? This is draft is also not as deep as others for skilled positions? Thoughts?

Tackle Solo 1
Tackle Assist 0.5
Sack 2
Interception 3
Fumble Force 1
Fumble Recovery 2
Defensive Touchdown 6
Safety 2
Pass Defended 1
Block Kick 2
Tackles for Loss 2
Extra Point Returned 2

I used to play in a league like that. I quit primarily because even a stud DL doesn’t matter unless they have a 3 sack game.

In such a league, take a stud IDP prospect no earlier than the late 2nd, early 3rd.

Yeah , I like the commish but he told me the rest of the league doesn't want the values up. I may just have to join another league if it doesn't change because even when IDP players go off its still almost like they are being restricted in a sense.

Sounds good , I will hold the trigger on the pick. Just feels wrong for a player like Bosa or Allen to go that far in a rookie draft.

Yeah. I have given up on leagues like that. Even a prospect like bosa is only worth a late 2nd there, wouldn't spend more than a mid 3rd for anyone else in this class. Might as well take a shot at a rb or te who may actually reach real value

In my home league the IDP impact is limited as well, and making a change to an existing league scoring is a somewhat controversial item. I've simply joined other leagues if seeking a greater IDP presence.

That isn't your question, but aligns with one of the other comments.

I changed the scoring in my league this year to balance out IDP's. (league in sig) My scoring was almost identical to that listed. I play with a bunch of friends who don't quite yet understand the dynasty theory (going into year 4) but they are slowly learning..and they really don't get the IDP-point value thing.

Last year Bradley Chubb was the first IDP off the board at 2.11. I scooped up darius leonard in the 3rd which at the time i was pretty happy with (hindsight i should have did a backflip) In previous years, players like Rueben Foster Takk McKinnley and Jamal Adams all went in 2nd or 3rd round.
I have too many teams to list...

I'm in league with big play points for idp- 12 points for sacks/int. We've had players go in the first round- last year Bradley Chubb went 1.2. even in that league I still wait for the second round to grab the best idp player available- last got Darius in the third round
