After attempting to get a Top DE via my other post, I am faced with this trade option. To sum up scoring
Scoring for this league:
32 team, double copy league (53 man rosters)
Difference between DE and LB
DE = 1.5 Tackle, 1 Assist
LB = 1 Tackle, .5 Assist
Points here are the same for the DE and LB
Sack = 4, Pass Def = 3, Int = 4, FF = 4, FR =2, QB hit = 1, TFL =2
My current team with points scored in 2018
LB:
Roquan 169
Lorenzo Alexander 166
LVE 151
Eric Kendricks 131
Benardrick McKinney 128
Zach Cunningham 127
Kyler Fackrell 116
Josey Jewell 58
DE
Hunter 239
Ngakoue 130
Bilal 69
I was offered Marcus Davenport (75 points last year) and Sam Hubbard (119 points last year), for Roquan. I dismissed this trade at first, but it does give me two guys who have a chance to be a a DE2 for me in the coming years. I lose what I consider a generational LB, but that doesn't mean much in this league. Being very weak at DE doesn't feel good for me and I do plan on addressing that some how in the draft this year. I feel like this trade kind of makes sense though.
Davenport was the consensus #1 DE taken in most of my leagues last year. He was drafted at 2.14 while Roquan was drafted at 2.06 (double copy remember). Top LB's tend to start performing better faster.
Sorry for the long post, but I figure more information is better

Re: Trade help for up and coming DE
I wouldn't do it. I do like Hubbard and Davenport, but Roquan is a special talent. I'd counter with Bernardrick McKinney.
Re: Trade help for up and coming DE
In general I am good with the idea of roquan for davenport+ but I don't see Hubbard as being the + you want here. I just have too many questions about the stability of the situation in Cincinnati as well as his upside to be a real difference maker. Would rather have him swapped for either a decently productive lb, an upside lb, a higher upside rusher, or a late 2nd round pick

Re: Trade help for up and coming DE
I was also offered Melvin Ingram and Preston Brown for LVE. I could always try to change Brown for Avery Williamson in that trade

Do not trade LVE unless you're getting an elite offensive talent.lukkyseven wrote: ↑Thu Feb 28, 2019 5:52 am I was also offered Melvin Ingram and Preston Brown for LVE. I could always try to change Brown for Avery Williamson in that trade

Re: Trade help for up and coming DE
You have to understand that this league doesn't score well for LB's. It's not very typical. As posted it's 1pt per tackle and .5 for assists.
As an example. The top 10 scorers on the IDP side of the house had only 1 LB in the group and that was of course Leonard. Six of those top 10 scorers were DE's though.
I appreciate the input from everyone

Re: Trade help for up and coming DE
I am not big on ingram. He will quite possibly bounce back some with bosa back across from him but I would much rather try to counter the roquan deal. I don't even think you have to be getting much more value than the current offer, just a slight adjustment in what that piece is
