Trade Help for a Top DE

Postby lukkyseven » Tue Feb 26, 2019 7:22 am

Scoring for this league:

32 team, double copy league (53 man rosters)

Difference between DE and LB
DE = 1.5 Tackle, 1 Assist
LB = 1 Tackle, .5 Assist

Points here are the same for the DE and LB
Sack = 4, Pass Def = 3, Int = 4, FF = 4, FR =2, QB hit = 1, TFL =2

My current team with points scored in 2018
LB:
Roquan 169
Lorenzo Alexander 166
LVE 151
Eric Kendricks 131
Benardrick McKinney 128
Zach Cunningham 127
Kyler Fackrell 116
Josey Jewell 58

DE
Hunter 239
Ngakoue 130
Bilal 69

I'm curious if I should just hold onto my LB's or try to move two of them for a top DE. Such as Roquan and LVE for someone like Myles Garrett. What is your guys opinion? I could also trade away my picks which are 1.28, 2.28, 3.04 and 3.19

Top 5 scorers at each position:

LB
Leonard 242
Littleton 202
Miller 199
Kuechly 198
Mack 196

DE
Donald 295
Watt 254
Jones 244
Hunter 239
Campbell 209

With that group I would consider going for a deal for a top DE, Bosa, Donald, or Garrett, though you may be as well off depending on the values placed on them by current owners going after a guy like Frank Clark or Derek Barrnett, or taking a chance on a guy like Dee Ford who will likely see a huge value increase moving to DE depending on how much cheaper those guys are.

I certainly wouldn't be afraid to move Roquan and LVE for Garrett as I think that is a gain though I currently value him less than the other 2 top guys I mentioned so I would ask about them first

First person to write me back with a counter offer is for this:

Aaron Donald and Avery Williamson

for

Roquan Smith, LVE and pick 1.28.

I kind of want to counter with something like my 2.28, but I'm not sure he'll accept that.

Seems a little steep to give up what is essentially 1.14 plus 2 good lbs for a top DE, though it does make your dline about unbeatable and my initial thought was yeah, I would probably do it. I wouldn't be afraid to counter with what you suggested, I think if I could gain some small bit on that initial offer I would take it

I would be getting a decent scorer back in Williamson as well. He put up the same amount of points as Roquan and LVE

Yeah, which is probably part of the reason I initially jumped to yeah, I would do that, in my mind. Adding in a 1st just seems a little steep especially where in most leagues that pick, essentially 1.14, would have a decent chance of pulling in a guy like bosa who is as good of a defensive end prospect as I have ever seen

I went for the 2nd and it got turned down. I'm with you on the 1.28. It should give me a chance at landing Bosa or a top TE if say Fant ends up in NE. If not, it will hold a ton of value that day anyway.

Yeah, keepnthe option for that trade open if you don't love what is there on draft day, maybe see if you can get him to throw in a 2nd or a 3rd but I would probably be looking at keeping the pick if bosa or a 1st round NFL tight end or wr were sitting there.
