Desmond King - super deep league

Postby lukkyseven » Mon Dec 31, 2018 11:46 am

In a 32 team 2 copy league. We have to start 2 CB's each week and can start 3 (probably shouldn't).

King was the #1 scoring CB in the league by almost 40 points. We get credit for return yards. What kind of draft value should I try to get for him. I was offered an early 4th (with comp picks that equates to about the 60th person taken off the board). In this style league that kind of equates to about the 5th or 6th LB in the rookie draft, maybe the 3rd or 4th DE/S.

I have never owned a CB who has this kind of value due to return yards and I don't know how I should value him as far as picks go. If he's a good CB, he'll stop getting returns. If he's a bad CB, he'll disappear. I feel like I should trade him while I can, but what should I be shooting for.

Defensive guys and schemes change so much from season to season - seems like with having that many in the player pool you should be able to find or draft a guy next season with a similar pick or waiver

I countered earlier in the day for a mid 3rd and he accepted. So instead of the 60th to 70th player I moved up to about the 50th person off the board. Some successful draft picks in that range last year (my league) were Fred Warner, Minkah Fitzpatrick and Mark Andrews.
