I have taken the challenge of adopting the team in sig. It's my first salary cap, first IDP, and first keeper league all wrapped into one. I'll be competitive this year, but will probably end up in the middle of the pack (16 teamer). I have my sights set on being a contender by the 20-21 season. I come to you guys because I'm lost on what to do as far as rebuilding within a keeper league. I can only keep 13 players from year to year so is it worth it to continue to acquire young/stud players going forward this year?

The last keeper could be a lot of different guys: Ekeler, Turay, Maye, Allen/Rosen, and there are other rookie defensive guys that have a chance to be keepable as well....
Am I on the right path? What is the next step?

Not familiar with salary cap, but if your not competing for several years, I’d look to build with d line, wr and picks now, dB and to a degree lb can change a lot year to year

Unless you have one of the top end options, I wouldn't bother ever keeping a kicker.
