Where do I stand with my IDP

Postby bullsboy19 » Fri Jul 27, 2018 10:11 am

For the team in my Sig.

What do you guys think of my situation? With my rookie draft coming up I feel fine spending the 2.06 on a IDP so is there someone I should be targeting? I'm mostly concerned about my S position and LB depth and wonder what i should do.

Scoring:
Each Sack (SK) - 4
Blocked Punt, PAT or FG - 6
Each Interception - 6
Each Fumble Recovered - 4
Each Fumble Forced - 4
Each Safety - 10
Assisted Tackles - 0.75
Solo Tackles - 1.5
Tackles For Loss - 2
Passes Defensed - 1.5

I think if I'm using a 2nd, I would take one of this class' top 3 LB. I hate using picks that early on DB. It's a position with a lot of turnover and production inconsistency. I think you could use a later pick to get an Edmunds, or address the position a bit more organically on waivers/through trades. Not every class produces Landon Collins or Keanu Neals.

You could really use an upgraded starter at LB, and a better backup at all your spots.

I would try to trade down from 2.06, as I would rather have Darius Leonard AND Rashaan Evans than Roquan.

I just updated it with the scoring if that changes anything, Also trading down seems like the move since I don't need a RB/WR (Going Lamar at 1.06).

I have to agree trading down is a GREAT idea. You might get 2 LBs for 1.
If Leonard or Evans happens to get taken in front of your trade down, I think Oren Burks is going to be a stud. Might take a year, but it is a completely differ type athlete than what the Packers have had a LB EVER..... Like I said might not be this year, but he will break out by year 2. Mark it.
I only play in 16x53 with 10+ taxi size leagues with full IDP. All are PPR and most value return yardage. So my opinions may be skewed To these deep roster leagues.

Dynasty Fantasy is not a game, it’s a full time hobby.

Trading back is always a great option when possible, that's a good call by lukky if you can make it happen. I would definitely adopt that strategy IF it plays out in your draft and you are comfortable with your LB targets after the top 3-4. It MAY be difficult to move the 2.06 to a team for 2 picks before your 3.06, and in a significant amount of drafts I have seen and participated in, Leonard is no longer there at the 3.06, you're next available pick, and moving back too far from the 2.06 you may not even be guaranteed Evans.

Just a word of caution with that strategy, but you know your league best.

My league tends get few big names early on, then go IDP heavy in the 4th/5th, In talks to move the 2.06 for the 3.03 and 3.05 which I think could net me Leonard/Evans/James but we'll see.

Don't draft a safety - just pick one up off waivers a week into camp.

I think Perryman's your 2nd starter, not a bench guy, but we'll see how that goes.

I agree that trading down seems like a good idea, but don't get too much tunnel vision on LBs - see who's there among offensive players as well.

Is there anything useful on your waiver wire at LB or S?

Not many good options in FA, was able to scoop up Littleton and Kevin King (Tom's projections sold me) but other than that it's dried up.

I not a big fan of most of the offensive options in that range, so if I do make the trade to move down I'm comfortable going Defense heavy when the value is there.

I hope Perryman has a breakout year this season so we'll see. Also I think Derwin can be a stud, only concern is that they play him at FS.
