Lesson Learned From Bradley Chubb

Postby kandyman » Wed Jul 25, 2018 6:46 am

I learned something this year from the targeted drafting of Bradley Chubb. He was listed as DE on ESPN as I was heading into two rookie drafts. I had positioned myself with my rosters to try and replenish my, currently lacking, DL. Shortly after my drafts finished ESPN switched his position to LB. I was targeting Chubb roughly a round earlier than most were considering to make sure I drafted the blue chipper. Now, I feel I wasted the draft pick spent. The moral of the story is be cautious with Defensive Ends and relying upon that in your rookie drafts as team defensive formations and ESPN position settings can easily change.

Yeah, that's a rough lesson. The threat of IDP positional change is often a bigger risk with specific players and/or the scheme of the team that drafts them. Chubb going to LB was almost a guarantee once he was drafted. I would suggest researching situation heavily before spending an early pick on DE/OLB.

Agree with Guerilla, but a worse situation is when their designation keep changing from year to year. I think Mack and Beasley have dealt with that thru the last few years with out even changing od D-coordinators. That's why Im a huge supporter of adding an RLB position to fantasy to help alleviate this problem.
I only play in 16x53 with 10+ taxi size leagues with full IDP. All are PPR and most value return yardage. So my opinions may be skewed To these deep roster leagues.

Dynasty Fantasy is not a game, it’s a full time hobby.
