So I thought about posting this in the Dynasty Team Advice forum but I don't normally see very good advice or reasoning when it comes to IDP questions, especially when they are league/scoring specific. I know both of these dudes are beasts and this wouldn't be a question in a normal IDP heavy league. Mine is not one of those leagues, refer to the second team in my signature.
So we all knew that Mack would eventually be moved to LB on most fantasy sites (we use NFL.com). I hadn't noticed the position change until this morning, which is unfortunate because I thought I had all 3 of my IDP spots locked up as keepers. Now I'm debating whether or not I should even keep all of them in my 12-teamer that only starts one at each position (DL, LB, DB).
Khalil Mack scored 97.50 points last season
C.J. Mosley scored 156.20 points last season
Tackles = 1 Point
Assisted Tackles = 0.5 Points
Sacks - 2 Points
Interceptions = 2 Points
Forced Fumbles = 2 Points
Fumble Recovery = 2 Points
Blocked Kick = 2 Points
Safety = 2 Points
Pass Defended = 1 Point
Int/Fumble Return Yards = 1 Point/10 Yards
Touchdowns = 6 Points
C.J. Mosley and Reshad Jones were the highest scoring IDP players at their position, Mack was #24 behind a bunch of guys no one is keeping. I feel like letting go of Mack will allow me to keep another RB like Peyton Barber or James White since I'm hurting at that position pretty badly and will be picking dead last in every round of our draft this year.
Am I really that crazy for keeping Mosley (25) over Mack (27) in this format now that he's a LB?

Re: Khalil Mack vs. C.J. Mosley
Just keep Mosley I suppose. I don't see either guy making a championship difference so I'd just go with the safe sure thing.
I would expect Mack to be a DE on MFL by the season's start, is your league really that different?

Re: Khalil Mack vs. C.J. Mosley
Mack was listed as a DL last season on NFL.com, now they've switched him to LB.lukkynumber13 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 06, 2018 3:09 pm I would expect Mack to be a DE on MFL by the season's start, is your league really that different?
The problem here would be if they switched him back to DL after our keepers have been set and locked...

Re: Khalil Mack vs. C.J. Mosley
You have to keep Mosley. Would it really be that bad to keep Mack over Barber/White in the hopes that they move him back to DL eligible before the season starts? Those RBs don't have a chance at being difference makers in your lineup like Mack does.

I'd keep both of those guys over White or Barber...

Re: Khalil Mack vs. C.J. Mosley
More sophisticated leagues would score these positions differently. I recommend double tackle and assist points for DE's to bring them into balance.
As it is now, with your system, Mosley may be the best player in all of IDP so trading him away would not be a smart move at all.
