Need some serious IDP help

So it looks like IDP will play a big hand in my success in this upcoming season. I traded my better IDP guys during the offseason to shape up my offense, I was getting great value in return and thought it was easier to find IDP guys then good offensive guys.

I have a lot of holes IDP wise mainly because we use so many starters. We start 3DL/DE, 2LB, 2DB, 1DFLEX. Below is the scoring for IDP in my league:

Fumbles Lost (to Opponent) -2 points each
Fumble Recoveries on Defense 4 points each
Number of Offensive Fumble Recovery TDs 6 points each
Forced Fumbles 4 points each
Interceptions Caught 6 points each
Interception Return Yards 1 point for every 10
Passes Defensed 1.5 points each
Blocked Field Goals 6 points each
Blocked Punts 6 points each
Tackles 1.5 points each
Assists 0.5 points each
Sacked a QB 4 points each
Tackles for a Loss 2 points each
Safeties 10 points each
Defensive Conversion Returns 2 points each
Number of Defensive & Special Teams TDs 6 points each

DL: Pick up Markus Golden ASAP. I'd also grab Okafor, as Davenport is nowhere close to starting yet.

LB: I'd strongly recommend picking up Cory Littleton, he's the starter next to Barron (for now). Matt Milano, Josh Bynes, and Jalen Reeves Mabin are also possible starters. Dee Ford wouldn't be a terrible add just to have a home run hitter on your bench, even tho your league isn't super great for big play guys.

S: Lots of safeties you COULD add, McLeod/Tony Jefferson/Justin Evans/etc but the one I would definitely add is John Johnson III

I was able to get Golden, Okafor, Milano, Bynes, and Jefferson from your list. Someone else outbid me for Littleton, but I also picked up John Simon. What's your thoughts on Simon?

I have no idea what to expect from Simon. I'm a diehard Colts fan, and yet I can't get a bearing on him going forward. He was the most impressive pass rusher on film that we had last year (not saying much), yet he's allegedly not a good fit in our new 4-3. He will either be cut, or probably a 25-40 snap per game pass rusher off the bench.

Damn, so basically there's no reason to even roster him.

So I do need some more depth at DL/DE and Anthony Zettel was dropped this week so I think I'll pick him up. Although I'm not even sure if he's starting this year. Noah Spence is also available but he's also behind JPP so at this point he'd be a stash.

Since we start 3DL/DE right now my starters would look like C. Dunlap, M. Golden, M. Brockers but after that my depth is pretty iffy. Last year I was able to find Lawrence on the waivers before the season started so I think I'll need something like that again to solidify my team.

What's your thoughts on Anthony Walker this year? He's never going to be a top LB but do you think that he has a realistic chance to get enough snaps to be startable as a bye-week guy? It sounds like he may have a chance to start at the MIKE. But a lot of the noise might be just him playing there in OTAs with Leonard not playing.

If my confidence is wavering with Simon, it is gone from Walker completely. He might get a starting job, but so could morrison and so could Jeremiah George, so could Matthew Adams, and so could Najee Goode. It's all up in the air next to Leonard.

He just really came on strong last year and should be the locked in SS until further notice. I liked his college tape a fair bit, but he's outperformed all expectations so far!

I guess he did have some big tackle games later in the season. 11 total tackles in week 13 against the Eagles. But really how many top safety weeks? I make it 2 top 12 weeks in the season.

And I have to disagree with him being a SS Im afraid. Wade Phillips plays split safeties. Johnson spent 53% of his time at deep safety. You can argue he was in the box more than LaMarcus Joyner but you can do the same for Shawn Williams over George Iloka. It still doesnt make them a classic box safety.

Hes useful in deep leagues I guess but I think he'll record similar numbers. 53 solos, 13 solos, a sack, an INT, 6 PDs. I just dont see any chance of a top 12 season.

Sure, I don't think he will be a top-12 safety, but that's not what I'm needing from a waiver wire DB. I just want a guy who will be startable, as I don't see a huge difference between S14 and S30 most years, in PPG

AJ Klein is worth an add until we see what the 3-down LB situation is in New Orleans.
Arik Armstead should probably be on someone's roster with 3 DL starters.
John Johnson and Jeff Heath are worth considering at S - I'd add Johnson, but you have good players there already, so no big deal.
