Top LB for Playoff Push

Postby Tanton » Tue Nov 23, 2010 9:24 am

Keeping it simple:

List the top five LB's to have over the course of Week 12-16.

I have a defensive flex and there are a lot of people available, so if I can get a great one for the playoff push, that would be ideal.

Thanks!
10 Team - Start 2 QB, 2 RB, FLEX, 2 WR, TE, K, D/ST - NONPPR

QB | C.Newton, R.Wilson, J.Locker
RB | C.J.Spiller, L.Miller, A.Ellington, S.Vereen, D.Wilson, M.Ingram, C.Michael, M.Lattimore
WR| C.Johnson, D.Bryant, J.Jones, R.Randle, D.Hopkins, J.Hunter
TE | J.Graham

what is the defensive scoring? which IDPs are already rostered, or are available?

don't limit yourself to LBs - there are some stunning Dback options as well.

I like your Timmons pick.

Other LBs might be Paul Posluzny, Brian Cushing and James Anderson.
Dbacks I like are Patrick Chung and Tramon Williams.
Julius Peppers and Justin Tuck are worthy DLinemen, but they won't get you the tackle numbers that the others will.

I went with Posluzny. His tackles have been consistently high...teams are just running against the Bills, so I think he might keep it up.

good choice, The only concern is that he seems to get hurt more often than others.

The good thing is this: If he gets hurt, everyone suggested is just sitting there for me to pick up. :)

Poz is always worth 20 points or an injury. Love the player and I have him on many of my teams, but he's a gamble every week since freak injurys just follow him around.

Watch your matchups too. I've been starting LB's against Chris Johnson;Cedric Benson, and Ronnie Brown. Other teams that give up decent points to LB's are the Cowboys and the G-men.

Desmond Bishop is definitely someone to look real hard at now that Chillar has already been ruled out for Week 13.
When Chillar is out of the lineup, Bishop is in on all the nickel snaps and has put up big box scores.

What do you guys think of grabbing Ndamukong Suh against the Bears? Bears have give up 5 more sacks than any other team thus far, and Suh is at home.

Would he be worth starting over a more reliable LB?

Nope... you're looking at season stats. The Bears sucked at protecting the passer, but they have changed the position of every lineman except the center and made adjustments to their offense. They have given up very few sacks over the past 4 weeks and a ton of sacks before that. The sack problem is fixed in Chicago. Not saying Suh can't get a sack, but he would have been a lot better play before the Bears made the adjustments.
