IDPs affected by free agency

Open forum discussion, anything related to free agency affecting IDPs.

Random thoughts:

Anthony Hitchens will be for real. He will not bust. Scoop him up.

Don't get sucked in by Devon Kennard. Yes he got paid, but he is more of a SAM than a 3-down LB, so if anything I think Patricia will use him as a poor man's Jamie Collins and that will NOT be good for fantasy.

Tahir Whitehead looks like a 3-down tackle-absorber in the Bay.

What about Kurt Coleman in NO and David Amerson in KC ( in leagues that specify CB's)?

Maybe. I wouldn't want to put a chip on anyone there right now, however. We see how NE uses their LBs - lots of rotation and specific game plans.

Both of NE's recent LBs have had big time pass-rushing ability (Collins & Hightower). So I figure Davis is their main guy, 90% of the snaps. Then Kennard plays a watered-down Collins role, maybe 40-60% of the snaps but he'll mainly set the edge from the SAM spot.

Yeah I'd be glad if I owned him.

Whitehead has a legit chance to be a top 5 LB based on tackle opportunities alone.

If you are paying a top 5 LB price tag for Whitehead, you are going to be a popular guy this offseason.

You do realize no one is advocating PAYING top-5 prices, right?

he was pretty solid for the colts last year. Do you think he'll have a three down role?

Wonder if the steelers signing Burnett if they will use him like GB did as a linebacker on coverage downs

Yeah.. not what I was saying at all. He's a very high-upside guy you could probably get for a low-end LB2/LB3 price.
The Raiders defense is going to be on the field a lot - and as a 3 down tackle machine, this just reeks of potential.

I suspect Bostic might play a lot early in the season.
I have been waiting for Hitchens to get a real job. Now he has one and I wound up with zero shares. My fault.
I also suspect Myxhal Kendricks will be dealt somewhere to start as a weakside 'backer. Get him while he appears logjammed.
