How messed up would it have been had the pick he announced been an LB?

I was thinking the same thing, skip.

Yeah, I would be shocked if he ever plays again. Hopefully he can become a coach in 2019.

I could see Edmunds being put into a Deone Bucannon-type role. So essentially, Shazier may very well have announced his replacement.

It was great to see him walk across that stage; however, it was painful to see that walk. His quads were buckling and you could see the two AFOs (ankle/foot orthosis) to help with his probable foot drop. I wish the man well, but I never want to see him on the football field again. There are bigger things in life than playing football.

Steelers apparently converted his 2018 salary to a guaranteed signing bonus. That was nice of them..

As a Raiders fan, I do not like the Steelers - but I cannot root against Shazier.

He apparently wants to be back in 2019.. That would surprise me.

I think he should take advantage of his second chance at walking, and just try to enjoy normal life. I think ever playing football again would be the last thing on my mind after an injury like this. Gotta just be grateful and move on and maybe be a coach if you want to stay on the field.

99.9% sure his career is over. I'm pulling for him as hard as anybody out there, and I don't even like the Steelers. I think it is more likely that he becomes a coach and/or a motivational speaker like Inky Johnson. Even if his playing career is over, there is still so much he can do!
