DeMeco Ryans Drop-able?

Postby stingray_76 » Tue Oct 19, 2010 1:36 pm

with his Achilles injury, is DeMeco Ryans drop-able?
do guys tend to come back to form after coming back from this type of injury at LB or are they never the same player?

i wouldnt drop him in a dynasty... id try and trade him for what i could get... achilles is a terrible injury to have... it forced dan morgan to retire... however... morgan was a 11 year player already... really hard to say.

I agree, I'd try to trade him. But if you need the roster space, I'd cut him. Also go pick up Diles if he got cut when Cushing came back.

If someone cuts him in any of my leagues I'll be the first in line to pick him up!

I wouldnt drop him. But it would pay to keep an eye on whats happening with their LBs. Ive seen in the write up on all 3 (Cushing, Diles, Bentley) they each of them are supposed to be slotting into MLB in his absence. But Cushing seems to the the most convincing right now. I have also picked up Bentley to see if can get Cushing like numbers on the strongside.

Texans' head coach Gary Kubiak said Cushing will replace DeMeco Ryans (Achilles) at middle linebacker, according to Nick Scurfield of the Texans' official site.
Spin: Kevin Bentley will step in at strong side linebacker, replacing Cushing.

Bentley? I'd have to think the lineup is Sharpton, Cushing, and Diles if all are healthy enough to start.

just an update,
i ended up hanging onto Ryans, and i played the waiver wire game for a few weeks with good results until i acquired James "Road Warrior Animal" Laurenitis in a multi-player deal.
so now i'm starting Beason and Laurenitis every week and holding Ryans for next season. feeling good at LB.
