Mack for Gurley

Postby lbi » Tue Sep 05, 2017 4:55 pm

PPR, Keep 16. 1 tackle, 3 sack,3 ff, 4 int

qb, 2rb,2wr,te,flex, 2LB,2DL 2DB,k

I got offered
My:Gurley
Pryor
For
Landry
K.Mack

My RB:
Mccoy, Gurley, Dmart, Crow, Abdullah, Forte
My DL
L. Williams
J Clowney
S Thomas

Pryor is my #4 so swapping him for Landry isn't really much.

Is it worth it to start Mack over Williams, and stream my #2 rb?
Mack finished with 146 points, Calais Campbell (was the #2 with 119)
On the flip, Gurley was #15 rb, with 198 points.

Is it worth it?

Thats a tough one. Mack clearly proven and a beast at the position. If your IDP scoring is high enough and your site allows Mack to be started on your DL, I would consider. On the surface though, I'd rather have Gurley. He's still so young and just now going to be tapping into his potential. You'll probably like what he does this year in an improved offense.

Are you saying that Mack is still classified as a DE in your league? I'm kind of confused on this part.

That said, earlier this off-season, before Mack was officially reclassified from DE to LB (but most people assumed it was going to happen), I made the following trade:
Gave up Bernard, Giovani; Mack, Khalil OAK LB; Pick 1.31 (double player copy. Pick ended up Cooper Kupp)
Received Gurley, Todd; Williams, Leonard; 2018 Round 4 Draft Pick

Scoring wise, they scored about the same, but obviously Mack had a huge positional advantage at DE.

With the LB change, I like my side as I like Gurley for at least a bit of a bounce back and feel like Leo is going to be solid at DE (I have Watt too, so that's nice).

I personally like Pryor over Landry (funny that I have Pryor on that same team), so I think I'd stick with your side. But, like I said, I'm confused on the position designation.

A lot of the same players involved in my situation, so hopefully this gives some helpful context.

It's an ESPN league, and they do still have Mack as a de. They normally only change positions in the off season, so he's likely there all year, unless they also add lb eligibility.

My LB are: Kwon Alexander, CJ Mosley, Chandler Jones

Keep Gurley. That's buying high on Mack selling low on Gurley which is bad all the way.

Close, but I'd keep Gurley, too much position changes for defensive players yearly to count on Mack as a positional advantage

Update. A deal got done, with some changes and mainly, additions.

Give:
Pryor
Kelce
Clowney
Crowell
D.mart
CJ Mosley

Get:
Nkoju
Eifert
Mack
N.bowman
Landry
J.hill

The only piece of my starting lineup was kelce and Mosley...

So in a 10 team league, I think I gave a shot to repeat as champ. New starting lineup
Qb:arod
Rb: mccoy, Gurley (Abdullah, forte, hill)
Wr: ajg, Baldwin (Landry, Beasley, Ross, kupp, stills)
Flex: Cooper
Te : eifert (hooper, higbee, nkoju)
Lb: Kwon, Bowman (c.jones, Trevathan )
Dl: mack, l. Williams (Shaq Lawson)
Db:h.smith, Burnett (Thomas)

Planning on dropping Higbee for RB depth.
