Ugh, sucks... Yesterday they inserted Mike Hull at MIKE, but I wonder if they'll try to get Hewitt on the field. If so, Alonso would have to move back to MIKE.

It could be a way to get McDonald on the field more when he returns from his suspension, but we're talking mainly about base MIKE snaps so it's not a role that is well suited for a safety. That is unless they decide that they are better served with McDonald as a dime LB and only use Timmons on base snaps, but that's probably not super likely to happen.

Reshad Jones is already living in and around the box most of the time so I don't think this helps him all that much. Maybe there will be a few more runs that gets through to the second level like we see with the Giants, but that's rather speculative. I'm sure they can find someone to fill that base mike role without the entire defense falling apart.

Salguero reports that they will go with Mike Hull and look at trades and final cutdowns, but as it is a part-time role they might just roll with Hull. They're saying that they don't plan to move Alonso inside, but I think that depends if someone becomes available that they feel strongly about who is a better fit for WILL. If that player is a better fit for WILL or SAM I'm sure they will consider moving Alonso or Timmons inside. But for now it's Hull at base MIKE, and Alonso/Timmons in nickel.

Terrible blow of the Dolphins. I'm very curious to see how to effects the other players around him - Kiko, R. Jones, McDonald (when he gets back).

Anyone see Daryl Washington getting a shot with someone like Miami? The guy was an IDP stud. Seem like he has used up all his lifelines with Arizona. I saw it mentioned in the Miami Herald, but doubt it happens myself.
