AJ Klein in NO

How does everyone see him as an IDP option? After seeing him four years in Carolina his strength is an early down run stopper. Struggles in coverage against backs and tight ends. He should be an every down MLB in NO though, seeing more snaps than he ever has. I imagine the saints defense being on the field a lot this season. Thoughts?

Bought him in every league. He's the perfect zero-LB candidate. All my leagues start 64 LBs weekly, so I roster 10-12 through the season. Anytime I can buy up an every down LB for minimum risk, I do. He may wash out in camp, but he seems to be the front-runner at the moment.

This is exactly why I don't roster kicker, punter, and corners during the offseason when I'm maximizing my roster limit on chances at hitting on a valuable starter. I'll trim back the LBs that don't pan out just before the season kicks off and add whatever kicker, punter, and corners are left.

I like AJ. He's one of very few Cyclones in the league. I think he will be a fine 2 downer, but honestly I think Stephone Anthony flat out has more talent & athleticism. Hold AJ through camp, but i wouldn't be surprised if Mike Nolan switches it up and hands the job to Anthony.

Klein signed a 4 year $24m contract with the Saints. $9.4 guaranteed at signing. That's a lot of money to be riding the pine if they give Anthony the job.

The Saints were fools last year. Anthony led the team in tackles in '15 and for some reason they bumped him outside and played Laurinitis. He's now gone, and although I like Klein better than JL, This feels eerily similar. I hope they get it right!

I'm not disagreeing that the Saints were fools, but they didn't "bump Anthony outside". They freaking BANISHED him to complete irrelevance. He barely played any snaps the entire season.

It's rare to say anyone on the Saints' D is a good asset, but Klein is a good get. He's not so cheap anymore.

I'd be willing to recommend Te'o if he's free in your leagues. I'm not saying he's a bona-fide starter, but you could do worse at taking a flier on a free player. I currently roster TWO Giants LBs just because they're free and have potential (Casillas and Robinson).

It just occurred to me that all of my recommendations can be ignored in 12-team leagues. Carry on.

I had Klein in two leagues. Traded him in both leagues today, one for 2018 2nd rounder and the other 2018 3rd rounder.

Huge return. I'd trade away an LB with starts under his belt for that. Klein is an unknown and has a high upside if those trades are any indication.

Just dealt him for a mid 2018 3rd. He's my 8th or 9th LB (start up to 6), but thought it was a solid deal for both teams. I can definitely get a quality skill player or better upside LB next year and he can get a opportunity starter right now.
