LB Help

Postby king0fkings1 » Wed Aug 25, 2010 7:09 pm

My league starts 5 D (any position) and 2 DBs. The guys I have on defense right now are:
Justin Durant
Stephen Tulloch
DeMarcus Ware
Nick Barnett
Mike Peterson
Yeremiah Bell
Bernard Pollard
Kenny Phillips

Scoring settings are
Tackle= 1 point
Tackle assist= 0.5 point
Sack= 4 points
Int.= 3 points,
Forced fumble= 3 points
Fumble recovery= 3 points
Def. TD= 6 points
Safety= 5 points
Blocked Kick= 3 points
Pass def.= 1 point

My defense is pretty weak as I traded Beason away so I'm just looking for guys to fill the hole. Some guys currently on the waiver wire are

Michael Boley
Lawrence Timmons
Daryl Smith
Dhani Jones
DeAndre Levy
Geno Hayes
Julian Peterson
Keith Brooking

and there are a couple of others. You can ask and I'll tell you if they are available. Thanks.

I don't like Barnett, not really sure why, maybe it was inconsistancy. I'd rather pick up Boley or Timmons in his place.

I'm still new to the IDP game, but seems like Levy would be a good fit in your scoring format. With Suh and company absorbing the blockers, he should be freed up to make a lot of tackles in that scheme. Admittedly, I don't know a whole lot about the others.
Year 2 | 12 team | Standard | .5 PPR | rtrn yrds | 1 QB, 1 RB, 2 WR, 1 RB/TE, 1 RB/WR/TE, 1 TE, 1 K, 2 each IDP (big play)

Q: Stafford, Ben, Locker, Kaep
R: Run DMC, Mathews, JStew, M. Bush, D. Wilson, Jennings, D. Scott, Tanner
W: Mega, Fitz, Nicks, Julio, Rice, Meachem, D. Baldwin, Sanu, M. Jones, G. ChildsBriscoe
T: Gates, Allen, Moeaki
K: Janikowski
DL: JPP, C. Johnson
LB: Willis, Hali, Bishop
DB: J. McCourty, Chancellor

Boley and Levy should be rostered immediately.
Like j13x said, Levy is gonna have alot of tackle opportunities.
Boley as well. Bullock will be playing SLB and there's no one in the middle worth mentioning.
Last I heard Goff would be the starting MLB :sick:, Boley is NYG's best LB.
I'd probably drop Peterson and Ware if you wanted those two.
Peterson will start to give way to Weatherspoon and Ware doesn't get enough tackles.
His sacks are nice but you want tackles from your LB position.
Barnett can give you that. He's shown he can get up to 90+ tackles.

add Boley + Levy
Drop Ware due to inconsistancy of scoring sacks - some good weeks and the rest are bad.
Drop Peterson - appears he's playing SLB and not playing in nickle. Weatherspoon has been taking the nickle reps.

Ok, I dropped Ware and Peterson for Levy and Boley. Any other changes I should make? And thanks for the advice, much appreciated.

Keep an eye on Geno Hayes, he did really well once he started and his position in that TB system is usually very productive

I'd agree with this. You can probably drop Kenny Phillips, then at the bye weeks pick up another dback who will be better.

I'd try to roster Geno Hayes as well. Actually, I kinda like Timmons more than Boley... but that's just me.
