DLF IDP Championship: 2017

Postby bruiser » Sun Apr 09, 2017 1:38 pm

I have decided to re-up as commish. Who's in? This is a 14-tm best ball re-draft or re-auction (undetermined). The entry fee will be $30 this year. We begin sometime around August 1st.

New features in 2017:

- trading
- blind-bid waivers after weeks 4 and 8 ($100 budget)
- QB hits

This league is intended to test draft accumen. It is simply a low-maintenance league where you get to draft against your favorite forum members (IDP nutsos). Sign up below.

Sounds like doing a redraft style again?

Can we exclude a certain someone?

Probably still too advanced based on what I've seen...

So far, I'm a fan of the redraft for the sake of testing our annual player projections against eachother. My interest in this is reflected in a $30 entry. My hardcore dynasty leagues are $150 each and require all of my attention during the season.

I don't want to specifically exclude anyone, but my instincts say that someone wouldn't want to be in any more auctions. I could be wrong, and I'd welcome anyone looking for redemption.

I'm fine with a redraft, just wanted to clarify. I do want to grab another quality IDP dynasty league in the near future though so wanted to be sure.

Fingers crossed on the latter. I'd like to avoid as much 'headache' as possible. Then again, perhaps i should just be thankful for whatever donation they'd be willing to make.

Glad too see you found the thread. We will be taking donations again this season (sorry, no post-draft refunds). All competitors welcome apparently. No where to go but up! ;)

I think I may pass this year guys. I'll be honest, mostly with myself Lol, the auction format is foreign for me and I don't feel like I'm able to compete with you draft veterans. Enjoy my donation from last season, I'll have to retire with a limp into the playoffs as my legacy!

I'm with Fireman Ed in that I would LOVE to be a part of a quality IDP Dynasty startup with forum members if that ever comes to fruition. My current IDP leagues are rather shallow and I'd love to really dig in.

Ok, I can compromise. We dipped our toes in some new, forward ideas in 2016 with anticipation of going full dyno in 2017. How would you guys feel about making it best ball still. Trading yes, weekly waivers (sure). I prefer auction, tho. Deal-breaker?

Also, I wanted to introduce the ever-important OLINE position. Still interested? CLICK HERE

The auction format was foreign to me too and it was a bit challenging. However, had I stuck to my valuations, I think it would have been fine. Let's keep up the discussion and find out who/how many interested as well as what are deal breakers for each. No deal breakers for me yet.

I'd be down with that setup. Never done OL or Coach, but I'm all in for a deep and detailed approach, without the burden of last minute roster start/sit obligations.

Oh, forgot to mention that I'm kinda all-in with drafting annual rookies before the NFL draft in my next dyno league.

Does anyone offer an auction assistance service? Lol.

I would have no problem discussing approach with you in advance of the auction if that would change your opinion on participation. Just like any draft, there is no 'this is the way to ensure winning!' approach, but I'm open to discussing how I prepare and handle them. Note that I've only ever done two (my second one being this league last year), so I'm no 'expert', rather just have an approach I go in with (understanding I may need to adjust) and cross my fingers it works out. At the end of it all there will always be 'ugh' moments you look back at though, regardless of preparation.

I was in last year, and would be fine with adding trading, making it best ball, having o-line and head coach positions, and drafting rookies before the NFL draft.

I would prefer to make it dynasty, though, as some mentioned, I think.

Edit: I also like having waivers, and having it be an auction draft for start-up.
Year 8, 14 Team, PPR, all TDs 6 points, 30 man roster limit with 3 IR spots,
QB, 2WR, 2RB, TE, WR/RB/TE, 2DB, 2LB, 2DL, D Flex, 16 Bench

QB: Rosen, Garoppolo
WR: Foster, Crowder, Meyers, Beaseley, Renfrom, H Butler, J Watston, Preston Williams
RB: Mostert, Henderson, Hill, Travyeon Williams, Rodney Anderson
TE: Gronk, Irv Smith, Knox, Hollister, Moreau, Herndon

DB: Poyer, Rapp, Chuck Clark
DL: Nick Bosa, Leonard Williams, Maxx Crosby
LB: Mack Wilson, Devin White, Fred Warner

Picks of Relevance
2020: 1.1, 1.9, 1.10, 1.12, 1.13, 2.3, 2.13
2021: 2 1sts, 2nd, 2 3rds
