Deforest Buckner trade value

I have Buckner on a rookie deal that is essentially the 20th highest salary for the next 4 years (he's worth 3 times his wage). The league has 32 starting DEs each week, and his production puts him as the DE9 after just one season.... he's a really good value.

I've had a couple inquiries about trading him, and I've always been one to covet DL over LB, but I'm curious about his value compared to LB. I lost LBs this offseason to free agency (Keuchly and Z Brown) and am now considering going against my own philosophy here.

What would it take for you to send an underpaid Buckner on a long-term contract for LB plus draft compensation?

Id say flip him - even starting 32 DE each week the NFL is full of them...If you can get a solid LB like Kirksey or Kendricks

16tm, start 2DE. Hence 32 starting DE. Roster immaterial. Consider me loaded at WR and able to trade for anyone in that direction, but I wont. Strictly looking for LB plus value for Buckner

There isn't any LB in the league that is worth anything close to Buckner on cheap money, IMO

Yeah. Don't overthink this one Bruiser. Young, talented, plays a huge number of snaps [even with Chip gone] and on a cheap contract. Ride this one.

Well, I'm gonna hold on the chance that he moves to DT and gets a bump in value (weighted scoring). Not sure if he will be as productive, but probably worth holding on his contract. I am starting to wonder if the Niners will not go after Fangio next season as had been previously suspected. I just don't see them switching defensive schemes every year as a method to getting right. They're already deeply invested into the 3-4 and reportedly abandoning ship.

Rumors are starting to swirl that the Bears have blocked the Niners from interviewing Fangio. If this is true, I will go out on a limb here and declare that he is headed for San Fran next year when his contract in Chicago is up. I know the Niners are a dysfunctional mess, but Chicago is hardly better in that area.

I'm starting to lean toward the Niners sticking with their 3-4 personnel and drafting a QB at #2.
