DB's that are KR and/or PR?

Postby pntgvn2399 » Mon Jul 05, 2010 8:53 pm

Does anyone have a list of DB's that are also "in line" to have KR and/or PR duties as well? Its getting later in my initial draft and I love guys like this because they score more points in my league.. I have already picked up Kyle Wilson from the Jets but he is more long term.. Does anyone have a list that shows this information without having to go through each teams depth charts?

There really aren't many starting DBs that return kicks or punts regularly. I play in three IDP leagues that award KR/PR points so I try to keep tabs on double duty players.

Seriously the list is short...at this point its difficult to filter. Honestly I think Danieal Manning is the only double duty DB (KR/FS).

Double duty potential
McKelvin - BUF (may regain KR duty after injury shortened 2009 season)
Josh Wilson - SEA (I suspect Leon Washington will take over @ KR, but 2 years ago Wilson lead the league in KR yards so he's plenty capable)
Kyle Wilson (PR) - NYJ (I think he's a lock for PR, maybe KR too and definitely nickel back, good pick up for your team. I wish NE would have taken him  )
Leonhard (PR) - NYJ (probably will lose PR job to Wilson, should be starting SS)
Lardarius Webb - BAL (starter upside, best KR on Ravens roster IMO)

These fellas are... well...not fit for fantasy. They might compete for return jobs but they won't contribute enough defensively to warrant a roster spot.
Perrish Cox - DEN (rookie should relieve Eddie Royal of all return duties, but he is a long shot for playing time on D)
Dominique Franks - ATL (it will take a near miracle for him to unseat Eric Weems as KR/PR)
Tramon Williams (PR) - GBP (nickel back, lost return role to Jordy Nelson)
Captain Munnerlynn (PR) - CAR (nickel back and PR, limited IDP value)
Chris Carr (PR) - BAL (not sure where Carr fits in on defense for Baltimore, he could be the 4th CB)

Don't forget about Will Blackmon for GB too. He got hurt last year, but was their nickel corner and returned 2 punts for TDs in 08 and saw time at kick returner too.

Cortland Finnegan might see some time returning punts also. I'd keep an eye on Alphonso Smith in Denver and Quintin Demps in Philly too.
ECFFL (Commissioner) - Mullet Mullitia
Gridiron 3 - Hamden Hawks
UDL - Connecticut Cowboys

Kyle Wilson, he's going to be an impact player right away. If the Jets D is legit then he should get ample punt returns. Also he is going to be their starting nikkel back, with a shot to be out Cromartie at some pt. If he gets KR duties as well then bonus. I think Wilson could do some big things in a scoring format that awards return yards.
