Sorry - I wasn't trying to insinuate people here had a bad evaluation of him. But even most DLF people think this sub is for obsessive types. I'm not sure any of us count as being general populace when it comes to IDP drafting.

All good points Ed and of course I trust your judgement

For the sake of diving further into where to slot Foster in the ranks of Dynasty LBs (and to validate myself and whether I still believe Top 10 from the outset is warranted), I think the following guys would be the only sure players i'd have ranked ahead of him;

Kuechly, Ogletree, Wagner, Telvin, Kendricks, Collins

Guys I'd have in the same tier (Foster could be behind them) would be;

Alexander (don't trust him as a player despite stats)
David (deserves my respect given history and i'm not jumping ship yet)
Mosley (young, has shown it and is still very talented)
Shazier (if healthy he's great)
Bowman (healthy or no?)

Probably falling just below him would probably be;

Hicks (don't trust his tackle volumes)
Jatavis (He's doing it all, but not 100% there just yet)Lee (age/injuries)
Bucannon (solid but unspectacular)
McKinney (solid and potentially similar, but not the same talent)
Orr (solid, but not above Foster for me)
Lee (age/injuries)

Guys like Barron (3-4 D coming?), Burfict (injury/head case), Deion Jones (I may be a naysayer or skeptic), and Jack (how will his coverage ability impact fantasy and injury long-term?) fall in below him for me too.

So perhaps Top 10 was overly aggressive, and Top 15 is more realistic. This was a quick list, and one that doesn't include 'balance scoring' to add value to the Von Miller's / Justin Houston's of the world, but is an idea of where i slot him based on talent and uncertain location vs proven players, noting that someone like Jatavis/McKinney may be tough for me to deal for him without knowing his landing spot.

Danny T's patella tendon doesn't worry you, Tom? I'm not being snarky btw, haha I just took him in a startup because he fell to me, so I hope he does well!

To be honest, I took just a quick stab without too much deep though, focusing on the guys in the upper part of the DLF rankings. As for the players you mentioned, I'll full out admit I haven't watched many Browns games this season, or even much in the past. They don't get my time much, so I am likely missing a lot on Kirksey. Can't move him up though based on not seeing it. He balled this year though. Trevathan is fine but not a guy I am super attentive to. Burfict is outstanding, but I moved him in the past due to his knee and head issues, so while he is outstanding on the field, he still holds more risk and probably lower value for me than maybe he should. Zachary Brown I don't care for.

Probably others worth mentioning, but did that list quickly at work with quick reactions. I think I'm fine with it.

A little. But if I'm looking for upside he's got to be up there. I really hope hes back to 100% as hes such a fun player to watch

That was done in the past for offense i believe, but quickly lost momentum given the amount of time and effort rankings take. I have no issue providing feedback, but just a heads-up. I envision it really only being a handful of people anyway since the IDP regulars consist of perhaps a handful of people.

I don't think he's a top level LB. I do think The stat crew helps him, but that Ragland will eat into his volume. He's fine if you're looking for a mid-level guy, but I'm not paying any reasonable cost for him is all. Could per a personal bias that I knowingly have against him, but I just don't believe this is his new norm. It was definitely nice, but I expect a regression back to the mean forthcoming. If I'm wrong I'm content missing on him and putting those chips elsewhere.

And who knows what's gonna happen? Does he leave? Does Preston brown get benched? Or does it become a yucky 3-way like the Titans and NYG?

From Rotoworld:

"In an interview with SEC Network's Paul Finebaum, ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. called LB Reuben Foster "the best inside linebacker Alabama has ever produced."

Well then. That is something. On his most recent Big Board, Kiper slots Foster in as his No. 4 overall draft prospect for 2017. He views him more favorably than he did Bama LB Reggie Ragland a year ago, writing that the 6-foot-1, 240-pound Foster "has more range, runs sideline to sideline and is a more complete player." A lock first-rounder, Foster won the Butkus Award this past season on the strength of a regular season which saw him record 94 tackles (12.0 for loss), four sacks and two passes defended."
WR: OBJ, Dez, AJG, K. Allen, Crowder, K. White;
RB: Gurley, Montgomery, Lacy; QB: Wilson, Goff; TE: Eifert;
DL: Bosa, Danielle H., Ansah, Frank Clark;
LB: Telvin, Kwon, Collins, Jatavis, D. Lee; DEF: KC;
DB: Burnett, C-Dix, S. Davis; K:

Rookie Bench: C. Coleman, Doctson, N. Spence, Jaylon, Jack;
IR:

Start 1 QB, 1 RB, 2 RB/WR/TE, 2 WR, 1 WR/TE, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF, 4 LB, 3 DL, 4 DB

Agree with Ed here. Brown was a JAG in Tennessee and lucked into the role with the Bills when Ragland went down. Sell now to unsuspecting foes who see tackle totals and ignore the reality of the game. I'll likely pick up Foster with a late first/early second in my leagues, but top IDP scores on par with top offensive talent in my leagues, so the price is worth it in terms of production. I won't be able to generate much of a return compared to a WR or RB that hits, but a well-rounded team tends to win in these leagues.
