DLF IDP CHAMPIONSHIP

Postby bruiser » Tue Aug 16, 2016 3:02 am

Alright, gents. The forum members here have formed our very own IDP best-ball league w/auction to measure our drafting acumen against other like-minded DLF IDP nutsos. Here's a snap-shot of the auction board after 17hrs of bidding:

DLF IDP AUCTION BOARD thru 17hrs

This is a 16-team redraft league. $500 to spend on 50 players, best-ball. Discuss...

How are people finding the auction experience? Generally speaking they can vary a lot more than standard drafts, as guys go up at different times, there are lots of different plans/approaches. I've only ever done a live auction, which is very different than this. Both have their own challenges and advantages.

Overall this is a lot of firsts for me;

- Email Auction with so many players up at once
- 16 team league
- Best Ball
- Largest rosters / deepest IDP

Glad we are doing a Redraft before the Dynasty. Good experience.

Will be interesting to see how this plays out.

thanks again for taking the bull by the horns and running the show Bruiser.

Any interest in starting a Forum in the League Forum's section?

I'm not new to the deep IDP email auction, but I find myself thinking about best ball and it's differences. That is a first for me. Love the scoring and lineup requirements from a player value standpoint.

I more meant have a new one right from the Forum, then have different threads within. How do you get a Forum of your own? Cost anything? Special requirements? Not really necessary, just figured I'd ask/check. Easier for discussions and all are already on the forum.

This is a learning experience to say the least.

The Best Ball format is a new wrinkle for me... I don't participate in the MFL 10's, so this format is completely new to me... tack on the large rosters with IDP its

Just ask Jules, it's easy to do.

I would MUCH prefer a forum/subthread setup. The league chat only stores a certain number of messages. Given I generally log on in my morning to catch up with your evening I miss a fair bit.

Going fine so far. Now I've had a chance to do some calculations I feel much more comfortable with it. Its such an unusual setup its definitely a good idea we went for a year to test before a full dynasty setup.

It will be difficult to discuss much until the auction comes to a conclusion. I'm trying not to give away my positions here and there. We've all been giving so much away over the last few months discussing players here... we'll see how this shakes out. Best-ball is a different animal (to me), so I may absolutely suck with my different angle I'm taking.

Yeah, I'll talk to Jules. No rush I don't think right now though. Redraft Year could be its own discussion. Auction review too. Dynasty time will be most of the talk (trades etc).

I agree, tough to say too much right now. I will say it's enjoyable and addicting to follow...

Learned a lot already: auctions are better than snake but you got to have your bleep together, stick to your plan cause this ain't just about BPA, never...ever, panic, and Bruiser is a shark, a frugal shark but still a shark (LMAO).
