OTC with Devy 1.1 & 1.2

Postby flyersfan1981 » Sun Feb 08, 2015 10:08 pm

First ever Devy league and I have acquired the 1.1 & 1.2 through trading. My team is already young and I have the 1.4, 1.5, and 1.7 in the upcoming rookie draft so I like my chances to grab some good players. Since this was a recent startup the entire devy landscape is my oyster and we can choose players from any draft eligible year. I have tried unsuccessfully to acquire the 1.3 Devy but the owner seems unresponsive to have any trade discussions. What would you do?

14-team PPR league (QB/RB/RB/WR/WR/WR/TE/Flex/Flex)

My initial instinct is Treadwell with 1.1 and I can't decide between Ezekiel or Boyd with my 2nd pick. I know Chubb is top ranked here and in a few places, but I am nervous on taking a RB 2 years away from being draft eligible. Any help from a more avid college football fan or anyone else is much appreciated!

I like Chubb more than Elliott and it would depend on your team. You could go Chubb/Elliott. Treadwell/Boyd or any combination of the 4.

I went Treadwell and Boyd, but not without agonizing over it. I just felt that Boyd would have the longer career and I have a borderline unhealthy obsession with building my teams around WR depth.

You did the right thing IMO. RB prospects fluctuate more than the elite WR prospects.

Thanks...that was my mindset! Boyd makes tough catches and Treadwell is a freak so I saw it as them likely to retain their value.

I've never been a fan of taking RB with a devy pick. Treadwell, Boyd and Duke Williams all seem much safer to me.
QB - Cam Newton | P. Rivers
RB - J. Hill | L. Miller (+ Jay Ajayi) | J. Stewart | Shoelace Robinson | Woodhead | M. Ball | R. Rice
WR - A. Brown | A. Cooper | J. Matthews | M. Wallace | B. Perriman | R. Woods | S. Johnson | T. Lockett | S. Diggs | **Duke Williams
TE - Graham | Amaro | N. Paul | Tamme | CJ Uzomah
DL - F. Cox | O. Vernon | S. Marks | R. Gregory | Tank Carradine | K. Early | K. Bierman | A. Armstead | **Shawn Oakman
LB - Kuechly | Dansby | D'Q Jackson | E. Kendricks | Mario Williams | D. Butler | A. Oxafor
DB - M. Burnett | G. Quin | W. Moore | P. Chung | D. Goldson | Shamarko Thomas

Gurley wasn't a safe prospect? Chubb isn't a safe prospect? Both are elite to me and muuuuuch better prospects than Boyd/Duke Williams. Boyd/Williams have major flaws to their games that will prevent them from being elite IMO.

Okay Nick, now I need some clarification as I am confused. You have Chubb as your #1 and Boyd as your #4 on your big board. Has something changed with Boyd that you no longer feel he can be elite? I was the original post to this thread and I passed on Chubb and Elliot to take Treadwell and Boyd. I then acquired Corey Davis as well, and flipped Treadwell in a deal to get Evans (value was just too good to pass up on, Treadwell, 1.11, 1.12, and 1.14 for Evans was the deal. I then made a move to acquire Chubb. I got him way cheap surprisingly and am fine to be patient. I gave up Tevin Coleman, Buck Allen, Mike Davis, and Dwayne Allen for Chubb/Ladarius.

But getting back to Boyd, he is your #2 WR on your board, yet you now think he has too many flaws to prevent him from being elite (elite being a WR1 in a 12-14 teamer)? I won't post your comments about him out of respect for your Devy Report (as I paid for it), but this recent post seems to be totally different than your report. Are you down on Boyd, or just that much higher on Chubb?

Treadwell and Boyd would have been my choices as well.
