Ask Me Anything

Hey Devy fans!

I haven't been utilizing the forums on here for a while, but will be moving forward. I noticed the Devy section was lacking some love. I've been playing devy for a long time, rank for it here with DLF, and host the Dynasty Life Podcast. Ask me anything. Specific prospects? Player vs Player? Devy strategy?

Travis, there doesn't seem to be any sort of consensus about devy QBs. With SF becoming more popular, what QBs should we be targeting in devy drafts (eligible any upcoming season, not just 2019)? Thanks!

I don't play Devy, so my knowledge on those guys is severely limited.

Is JK Dobbins set to be the next Gurley/Saquon in a couple years, assuming health and such of course? Or is he a tier below, more like D. Cook or Michel or M. Gordon, etc?

That’s a great question, Jaron.

For me the easy QB1 is Justin Herbert. He has the size, arm, and mobility you want to see. Plus the adjusted accuracy and other key statistical numbers as well. If he can stay healthy Herbert is the no-brained 1st overall pick next year when it’s all said Nf done.

Drew Lock and Jarrett Stidham will have their fans because of Lock’s gaudy numbers and fun deep ball and Jarrett’s poise, anticipation, and balanced skill set in pocket and outside.

Tua is my QB2 overall though. His understanding of the game, arm, touch, mobility, everything screams elite QB. Jake Fromm improved in a huge way down the stretch and should be another solid 2020 QB.

A couple lower rated guys I like more than most are Ryan Finley (NC State) and Will Grier. The NC State offense is incredibly intricate. Finley has done well with it. Grier propped up THREE top college fantasy football WR options—only one of which is decent at all (David Sills).

Great question here. Dobbins is a little smaller than your typical feature. I think he’s a step down from that. I prefer a few 2020 RBs over him: Akers, Swift, maybe Taylor & Carr too. Still think he’s a starter or 1a in a rotation in the NFL one day for sure.

Awesome info, thanks. I've seen many 2019 mock drafts, and there doesn't appear to be any sort of consensus on these QBs so I am very hesitant to put much stock into QBs early in devy drafts (even SuperFlex).

Thanks bro! Would you comp him to a bigger Bryce Love at all?

Dobbins legit looks like Shady to me, so freaking fun to watch.

Lukky, I completely agree. I selected Dobbins over Love, Harris and Carr in a recent salary cap/contract rookie/devy draft.

Dobbins over Harris? Dang that's strong. If they were in the same class I would for sure do that tho.

Wait, Damien or Najee?

Dobbins could definitely be a bigger Bryce Love. Shady's high praise, but if he sharpens up his receiving game even further I could totally see him developing in that way, most definitely. I just can't wait for college football to start so I can watch all of these ridiculous RBs!

What are your thoughts on Demetris Robertson? I drafted him in a few leagues before his freshman year based on his elite athletic profile and intangibles as a person (his highlights from hs were some of my favorite I've seen recently). I typically avoid high school seniors, but after doing research on him, I became very smitten.

Now, I am starting to have some fears with all his injuries and lack of development (which are probably related). I also feel like he is being put into a Torrey Smith/Will Fuller box in that offense, which makes football sense in terms of the kind of athlete he is, but I can't say I love it as his owner in devy, haha. I still see the speed and the ability to create separation, but I wish he was developing a more rounded game.

What are your thoughts on him? How much is his upside still worth compared to some other, more established wrs in devy.

I grabbed both a few ago in my 16 team superflex rebuild/orphan (team in my sig). Got Grier at 2.13 and Finley all the way at 4.07.

Damien, but I was also able to get him with a later pick (and less expensive contract). It's a one-taxi devy league and I wanted to get Dobbins to fill the spot for a couple years.

Thoughts on D.K metcalf? Guy seems to have all the raw talent in the world. But the lack of production, especially between the 20s, has to be concerning. I wish i saw a little more seperation as well for someone who is supposed to be this athletic physical freak. Am i missing something here besides the acrobatic catches?

Also thoughts on where trey sermon ranks for you in 2020?
